Very interesting read and hugely concerning for the sport.

The impacts are just too much for the human body to take as players keep getting bigger.

Make it harder for bigger men to have such a big effect.

Cut down to 14 players and only one center, keep 16 fat blokes Todd into the scrum.

Defending backs must be 10m from back foot of scrum and 12m from line out

Backrow cannot break away until the ball has been passed or kicked not just picked up.

5 subs 3 frontrow 2 backs

Make the game faster and force players to play longer

The other key point to take out of that report is the dwindling number of players at colts level.
Our local clubs have loads of kidd playing mini level and upto u13. Then it drops dramatically resulting in teams either twinning up or fading.
The demands on training at this age clashes with school work and something has to give.
I have heard u15 causally talking of having surgery during the summer break to try and get back for next season. U15s, the pressure they are being put under is just ridiculous.
I appreciate going slightly off thread topic but it formed part of the article.

Interesting that the vast majority of injuries mentioned in the article are from direct impact which doesn't seem to have any bearing on the playing surface. Good to see though that a study is ongoing into artificial surfaces.

This needs to happen imho.

I'd like to see the clock stop when the ball goes dead and whilst the ball is in a scrum.
It would increase the playing time without changing much.
