One question I'm not sure of is why certain leagues are better funded than others in relation to players wages. Is it purely that the owners of English and French clubs are prepared to lose more money than those in other countries?

I would suggest that some leagues have sorted out the business side better, but in truth the English and French clubs are losing unsustainable amounts of money.

Perhaps there will be no need for these rules for picking players playing in foreign leagues because there will be no big money left after the house of cards tumbles. Or maybe there will always be a deep pocketed person to step in, I guess we'll find out in the next few months at Sixways.
