A land flowing with milk and honey

... well, with kickers anyway. It seems our new scrum half Michael Heaney can kick as well, and is happy to do so. What a difference from last season's problems! (WN news article).

It must be a very lonely job some times being the appointed goal kicker. I know that as professional sports people, the kickers are expected, and paid, to achieve a minimum success during a season but the pressures must sometimes be almost intolerable when kicks are missed narrowly in a high wind and we, in the comfort of the crowd, bay for blood (metaphorically!).

So, all skills are very welcome as well as the mental toughness to deal with the pressures.

This article is, I suspect, one of a series which we will be seeing as pre-season develops and our collective appetite for the season to come whetted.

There are however a number of loose ends and tidying up issues which will no doubt be addressed.

The loose ends include the question of further recruitment - project players - and, of course, ownership. I must confess that I've no idea about sponsorship for next season but that could be the result of a senior moment or two.

Tidying up will include changing the details on the official website of the coaches where the outgoing coaches are still shown and not the new team. No doubt however that will wait until the "photo day" when I imagine the players currently away with international teams are back.

Incidentally, am I right in thinking that Ben Te'o featured in the photos released covering the first few days of pre-season?
