Looks like the club will not be running a coach up to Newcastle!

Big important game this, surprised the club aren't pulling out all the stops to get us there.

You know full well the issues of organising coach travel for that trip and the associated cost. DIY far more fun anyway (we have 2-3 days on the north Yorks Moors and then Newcastle for the weekend)

Drivers hours and Working time directive. Nearly 11 hours driving, so two drivers required and then well over 12 hours shift time for both drivers. All adds up to an expensive and very long coach trip. Not one that many would take up I would have thought.

I've booked a Premier Inn for 52 for 2 nights.

Nice leisurely drive up on Saturday - few beers around the Toon, game of rugby on Sunday and a nice drive home.

Definitely better than being stuck on a coach for hours on end.

It's roughly the same price to fly from Birmingham, via Schiphol, than take the train if you've no railcard. It's a bit quicker to fly depending on your travel to BHX.
