Yes, there is truth to it. Completely different type of deal to what the Dragons are getting/need.
Peter Thomas is walking away and wants his money back

Basically if you want to buy PT out you can, WRU have approached to do just that.

WRU trying to go down the Irish, Scottish and NZ route - can you ever see either the Scarlett or Ospreys selling up?

We are not selling up, the deal if the WRU invest would be very different to Dragons deal, WRU are not only interested party, just the only one papers are reporting. This will be a very long drawn process

If we are not selling up, what are we doing?

The article in The Times didn't really offer anything concrete.

Nothing new in this story article from August last year.

If i remember rightly the idea is the wru come on board to help financially whilst the arms park is redeveloped.

Peter Thomas wants the wru and cardiff council involved to add more financial clout and intergrate the redevelopment with the wider master plan with wru westgate street redevelopment.

Makes sense i think?

Guess he can't go on forever. They clearly don't want to spend and aren't interested in the region being successful.

Here I was hopeful that we were getting the long needed merger of the Blues and Dragons.

If it works for two successful French Club sides surely it would improve two floundering Welsh Regions?

You are joking I assume or stirring. Cardiff fans won't support a team based in Newport and Newport fans won't support a team based in Cardiff. The supporter base wouldn't be significantly greater and possibly could be smaller. A stupid idea

Sadly, I'm not joking. The Blues and Dragons have been underperforming for years now. I would argue the Dragons have become the biggest joke in Welsh Rugby with a trip to Rodney Parade being viewed as the same challenge as going to Italy (a banana skin but a very real chance to get a bonus point win).

As a Cardiff and then Blues fan, I fear we're heading the same way. The early optimism of Danny Wilson's reign seems to be floundering. Whilst I couldn't imagine going to Rodney Parade to support my team, something needs to be done.

So the Blues, Wales last side to win a trophy or get further the Q Fianl in European top comp are the underachievers.......... Intresting

Let me clarify why I believe the Blues are underperforming.

This season, the Blues have:
- played 17 games winning only 8
- played 9 games at home winning only 4 (of which the opposition got a bonus point win twice)

Given the games left this season, I think the blues will probably finish eight which is par for the course from the last five years' worth of finishes.

2016: 7th
2015: 10th
2014: 7th
2013: 9th
2012: 7th

In fact, the Blues have not been competitive (in terms of challenging for the league) since 2008. Which is nine seasons ago.

Do we really not think our team is an underachiever?

Trolling has gone into a deep decline over the past few years.

I can remember a time when trolling was worth the admission fee. These days the quality really has fallen away.

I dont really know why people bother to be honest.

Have an opinion and back it up by facts = trolling.

I think there a number of reasons for the under-performance, including:
- move to Cardiff City Stadium (revenue lost)
- no decent coach since Dai Young left, apart from Danny Wilson
- poor recruitment especially overseas players
- lack of squad depth
- funding, both the Irish and the Scots fund their teams to a greater amount

Reasons to be positive:
- Danny Wilson
- Players coming through from the academy (many Welsh U20s)
- Signings for next season: reinforcements to the pack which were badly needed
- Fanbase and management showing patience (average attendance from Pro12/Euro games 7,200)

Quite.

We had another troll on here previously posing as a fan.

Maybe both these trolls should unite to form one super troll?

Maybe they already have?

Nice squirm. The "if "you used assumed it was a done deal and would work. Don't kid us

The problem with the written word is that you can attach whatever context you feel to it. Although, I do enjoy being told what I mean when I write things by other people.

I'll be honest, I didn't expect that when I shared an opinion (admittedly a controversial one borne by the frustration of watching live two Irish provinces waltz into town and win to give them a clean sweep at the Arms Park) that I would be rounded on quite so completely. I should have known better. This is the internet, after all.

I think I'll probably just go back to lurking and waiting for rumours of a marque signing.
