Thought it was a very good run out for fringe and U23 players - especially second half.

Thoughts, observations, impressions:
- scrum went very well especially in first half
- line out was very inconsistent first half, Thornton made significant difference 2nd half
- why were they running the ditigal clocks when game time was being run only by the refs watch! This caused confusion in both halves - 1st half, it appear the half was cut short and 2nd half, it appeared to go on too long, an extra 5 mins or so.
- Shingler had very good kicking game but distribution was very poor
- Botham had a very good game but played a flankers game even though he was at No.8
- Lewis Jones was very good kicking out of hand but Blacker hand a better game distribution wise
- atheists side were generally very aggressive in defence especially second half at the breakdown
- handling especially in the first half was very poor generally, on the odd occasion we made it into their half the play often broke down due to poor handling, it was a lot better 2nd half
- Carre was a monster 2nd half when he came on, especially at the breakdown with at least two turnovers

Agree with those thoughts and players who caught the eye one addition to that would be Callum Bradbury. Was aggressive in the tight and playing at 6 looked a player of real potential.

Yep, all good comments.

Very pleased to see the scrum dominance and thought Thyer in particular scrummaged well but all the props were good. Agree with the comment on Carre he looked the least effective of our props in the scrum but in the loose he was a force of nature, its particularly good to see a young chap turning over ball in the mode of Gethin Jenkins and carrying the ball like Arhip --- someone needs to really work on his scrummaging as once he has that sorted the skies the limit for his career.

Only worry was that they seemed to break through our centre too often and too easily, hopefully that was just a couple of the boys being slow in getting their tackling game up and running and not some newly introduced organisational defect.
