21-8 to the Chiefs at half time

Re: Chiefs v Pirates

47-15 ft
Apparently a hard game and Pirates put Chiefs under a lot of pressure in the red zone a number of times only for excellent Chiefs handling/ defence to be our downfall- this gleaned from twitter.

Always gonna be a tough ask against a top side, the thing is to learn from these experiences ready for the start of the season proper.
COME ON YOU PIRATES, !!!

Bedford 18 Saracens 55 maybe the gap is widening between the Championship and Premier leagues due to the lack of RFU funding to the second tier. BT and SKY massive TV funding to the Premier has an impact.

Bill. I thought BT showed Aviva, has it changed?

Both Jersey and Titans lost by similar scores, happen you're right

Aviva Premiership success reflects in increased attendances. The majority of clubs have extended their capacity or planning expansion of Stadiums.Championship attendances are shrinking.Wake Up call to the RFU i think!

The boys did well, scrum and line out functioned pretty near perfectly, rolling maul went well and, despite the final scoreline, defence was good. Chiefs are deadly whenever they get near the line, just go through phase after phase until they break you down. We had several chances to score, but didn't have the clinical precision to finish it off. Chiefs didn't break our line in the backs very often and when they did our scramble defence was good. A lot of positives. Hopefully we got through without any serious injuries.

My wife enjoyed the game , so they must have done well---did not see a line-out fail on either side-couple of Chief fans were disappointed with their side but praised the Pirates for their performance--I am hopeful for the coming season.

No, it's still on BT Sport.

Twas only 'a friendly', probably the first proper one for both clubs, and I expect AB's had a more organised team. However, for most of this run-out your forwards competed really well, and I thought looked the more impressive against a much bigger, physical appearing team.
They scrapped really well, and as far as Mr Dickson was concerned were technically better at scrummaging by a big margin. Inevitably getting more ball movement helped Chiefs control the score, but your forwards lasted the full 80 minutes just as well, if not better!
I'm very sure all at Sandy Park wish you well for the forthcoming season, and the importance to BOTH clubs of the D/Rs maybe an important factor.

Nice one Axe Chief - a very fair view of an entertaining game.
