Not good news for supporters of Championship Clubs. The young DR players have been good to follow in their development to Premier and International level. Many England players developed playing for Championship Clubs.World Class player Saracens Owen Farrell started at Bedford.
This latest move reflects the RFU Boards loss of interest in making the Championship League a fully professional set up.

Yes it would but now that championship clubs can have as many as 10 D/R and players can move between clubs throughout the season the D/R season is becoming farcical. If this happens then maybe it will be better for all concerned.

We have a lot of D/R boys from Exeter, lets hope we see them regularly, especially if we get a few injuries.

The planned expansion of the 'A' league must already be in jeopardy after 3 of tonight's games were cancelled. These games were called off due to the lack of players as clubs deal with an increasing injury list. Mark McCall of Saracens has already spoken out against the proposal as an increased playing squad is not possible within the current salary cap. This season Wasps have reduced their playing squad to 40 due to the increasing player salaries. Hopefully common sense will prevail and a sensible level of D/R players will still be available to Championship clubs.

Good news for us. Guys like Lawday, Laverick, Keast etc have already proved very valuable for us as we have our own injury problems. The current system seems to work pretty well for everybody.
