Tom Hendrickson for Albion - strange.

I thought the same but then read on the Albion preview that their D/ R from Exeter were available for the game although it didn't mention the individual players.

It seems odd that Hendrickson would be D/R with Albion - dropping down a league, after he was so good with us last season.

Perhaps Tony Rowe and the Exeter management have decided they want to see Albion promoted this season.
Jack Innard is also down to play for Albion.

Good point 1spy, having two championship sides to nurture your academy players and give them game time can be no bad thing for the Chiefs. Not so sure about the long term effect for either us or Albion though!!

In the short term it's OK IMO. Helps us to be more competitive, maintain our place in the Championship and keeping costs down while we wait for the bleddy stadium to be started. Good if Albion come up again, too, but I reckon Cov are going to be strong this season.
Beautiful day here in PZ today, warm and sunny with light breeze. Should be an excellent game this evening - followed by England v NZ Ladies World Cup final - ansum!

Pirates 22 Albion 14
Pirates took their chances in the 1st half and were good value for a 22-0 lead.
A disappointing 2nd half when the Pirates were penalised repeatedly at scrum and line out saw us defending for long periods and conceding 2 tries.
A good workout ahead of a tough first game away to Ealing where we will need to be at our very best to get a result.
A good crowd of 1000 on a lovely evening and best wishes to Albion for the season.

Tom Duncan injured - looked like a calf strain, hope he's not out for too long, we need him.

A disappointing second half for sure. Say what you like about the penalty count that is for us to sort out on the field. If you get on the wrong sided of the referee you pay for it. Great credit to Albion who probably took more from that than we did.

Think it is going to be a hard week on the training ground. The lack of numbers in the squad if we get sustained injuries is going to weigh heavily on us going forward

They did a better job against the Chiefs last week. If they played the same there would have been a slaughter yesterday.

Reason Innard and Hendrickson are dual-registered with Plymouth this year is they're more involved with Chiefs' first team squad this season and they want them closer to home for training, A-League etc. Guess they think Nat 1 is a good enough standard... a lot of Prem teams now placing players in level 3.

Thanks Neale, shame we haven't got those two, but the lads we have got are looking very good.
