Totally dejected

What a poor game. We were 2nd best in every aspect of this game. We were poor at the breakdown our ball handling was next to useless the decision making left a lot to be desired, our ball carrying was poor and seemed to lack comittment and and our ball retention was 2nd rate at best. Our support play was well off the pace and we didn't start to defend until we were far too close to our try line. Rant over. Lets hope we get things sorted for our trip to Hartbury next week.

Couldn't agree more. Didn't start playing until the 75th minute, by which point we'd already conceded 34 points, so it was far too late. Two bonus points is better than nought but we're still desperately in need of a win.
Koster's yellow card was an absolute joke, not sure what the ref was playing at there. The ball was kicked high, both players looking at the ball, collision, both players down. No way was either player in the wrong.
Can't afford to be gifting sides 14 points in the first five minutes.

Having said that, credit to Nottingham who controlled the game effortlessly for 75 minutes, we need to start taking some notes me thinks...

You can't score if you don't have the ball!

Beaten by a better side, but Koster's card was ridiculous. We conceded 19 points when down to 14 men. Scrum was good, but that was about it. Dan's try at the end was brilliant, though - and at least we never gave up and got two points from the game. To be fair we are severely disrupted with injuries and ended up with both wings inhabited by centres. Tom Duncan tweaked an ankle in the warm up and Kyle Moyle now injured, too. Going to be a challenge to find 22 to go Hartpury.

Yes had to kick the cat when I got in as it was a bit depressing (not really)....

Good things:we got 2pts, Dan Koster was a revelation, our tackling was fierce/better and we never stopped.

Bad Things:

1. The officials were terrible in the first half: two of our players we taken out without the ball within 2 minutes yet no yellow card, Notts lay over the rear of the ruck slowing play-never penalised, clear stamping incident seen and reported by the touch judge-nothing given and the yellow card for Koster was a joke-I saw this clearly, their player, shall we say, reacted like a footballer and deserved an Oscar.
2. Notts had big ball carriers and we didn't. They played heads up rugby and went across field when they couldn't get through- with great success.
3.They never lost a line out and we lost several.
4. Our back play went side-ways due to their rush defence-when we chipped through we scored. Wiser heads required.
5. We gave yet another team a 14 pt head start.Got to stop, have we got our warm ups wrong?
6. More injuries.

I would say I'm disapointed rather than dejected after todays performance but time for a dose of reality. We are currently without 6 players who would be in most peoples starting XV and to lose Tom Duncan in the warm up was another blow as it left us with no ball carrying impact off the bench. Our small squad numbers has meant that we have had little opportunity for any player rotation and we looked 'off the pace'today and lacked the intensity of previous weeks. Nottingham looked well coached and played with structure and deserved the win over the 80 mins. Full credit to our lads for the late fightback to salvage something from a poor performance.
The 2nd yellow card was dubious to say the least and why was only a penalty given when Alex O'Meara fly hacked through a loose ball only to be pulled back by his shirt. It was certainly not a penalty try but clearly a professional foul and should have been a yellow.
I watch a lot of rugby and find it very frustrating watching the inconsistent displays of officiating at this level in comparision to the premiership.

Poor performance today but lots to consider

Last year we had Sam Simmons and Stu Townsend ( but for some reason totally beyond me we did not select Sam too often)

They won the premiership with Exeter

This year we have been missing:
Andrew (Paul)

For much of the season

There is a lack of experience in the current squad and our decision making has been terrible at times

But many of these guys are back soonish which will help

We do have great ball carriers , Matt Bolwell , Josh Caulfield and Tom Lawdsy have been great and Marlen Walker and a fit Tom Duncan are up with the best

The hookers (Toms) are both on magic form, bithbare close to Premiership standard IMO

The backs have faltered at times and today they had a collective shocker

But the coaching is very solid and passionate and the squad are untied it seems , so lots to look forward to

The one thing you cannot fault is the teams persistence. Despite all the above mistakes and the abysmal show by the ref (not making excuses) they didn't give up. All we are lacking is some older heads to steady the ship and make decisions that will change games. We have a very talented group of players who when they click will give someone a real pasting. Don't despair all will be well, you'll see.
The ref today was chronic, two yellows and some awful decisions along the way. That said we lost to a team of street wise men who exploited our naivety.

We need to put things in perspective. We have a long injury list including some key players and leaders. We got within one kick of beating Bristol and Ealing, had a chance at the death to win the game in Jersey, lost to the final play at Leeds. We've got points in very game.
There are no poor teams in this league and beating any of them is difficult. There is a cup week coming up, which will ease the pressure a bit and give a chance for some of the injured guys to get fit. The commitment and team spirit is solid and the boys, and coaches, are busting a gut to try and get things right. This is when true supporters show their mettle and get behind the team, it's easy to support a winning team.

Been saying to myself the same as Stalwart.OK well beaten on Sunday, but going into that game we could have been top and some way clear. Not necessarily should have been, but certainly could have
