A very different Hartpury side to the one fielded in the Cup. Much more experience, particularly up front.
However we have a secret weapon wearing the 18 shirt....

Again a changed squad but still looking very good.....apart from the bloke in the 18 shirt, he's never looked good. C'mon you Paves!!

Looking forward to another tough game in tricky conditions against a good side. I think that this is a game we must win....and will win (he says while kneeling and praying!)

I can't understand why Paves didn't come on for the last minute! lol

Good win in difficult conditions. Missed Lawday massively when he went off. Duncan and Cheeseman didn't look 100% fit. Fell foul of Sir at the breakdown which meant we couldn't get any continuity going. Thought the handling was excellent in that wind and the scrimmaging was very good. All in all a good 4 points.

One small moan. Was there really any need to keep the opposition waiting in that wind prior to the kick off? I thought that showed a lack of class, especially as both sides were going to be.....along with everybody else...standing in silence to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I thought that was quite shameful.

A hard fought win against a well drilled defence, they seem to have sussed our line out and it showed making only about 50% in the first half. Our line speed was excellent and kept a lively attack at bay for just about all the game. As for keeping the opposition waiting at the beginning, I can't believe this was intentional, maybe Hartbury came out a tad early!!! A welcome 4 pts, well done lads.

A hard fought win against a committed and well organised Hartpury side. We were clearly not at our best as our line out misfired and we fell foul of the Mr O'Grady at the breakdown. He didn't help our cause as we handed them back possession after either getting points on the board or good field position. Thankfully all of these things are fixable and a welcome 4 points which takes us up to mid-table.

Good win, with plenty of good things and some to work on. 4 points in the bag against a very useful Hartpury side. Watched on the internet as we're both incapacitated at the moment, but from our warm, comfy seats we thought Cheese had a cracking game and Tom D played well, too considering they've both been out for a few weeks. Tom C-D deservedly MoM.

cornishbob.

Both sides should have come out together today. As for the delay not being intentional....well it's not difficult to coordinate getting both sides up that tunnel together. I know it's narrow but I still think that to keep the opposition out in that biting wind for that length of time was very poor. HC were lined up waiting for the Pirates so both sides could observe the minutes silence together. Today of all days is about showing respect and it seemed to me that our club didn't do that as well as they could have.

Yes well deserved 4pts against a good Hartpury side.difficult to pick out a MOM certainly Tom C-D played well once again but the official winner was a well deserved Josh Caulfield.

I thought Caulfield was immense today in all aspects of his game. Ball carrying, tackling, set piece, breakdown & off loading in the tackle. If this game was on Sky I would have loved to have seen his stats.

1908, not disagreeing with you at all, but just to say it was entirely our fault or problem is perhaps wrong. There may be all sorts of reasons it wasn't co-ordinated as well as it could have been. HC coming out when they were ready and before the ref called them, the ref not making sure it happened together, us coming out late as you suggested, or maybe a combination of these things, I doubt if anyone did it intentionally. It's easy to point fingers but first it's best to know what you're pointing at.

You are right 'cornishbob', there can be various reasons and the Pirates proudly hold their record of good sportsmanship. Be assured there would have been absolutely no such intent.

Best wishes, Phil W

Travelled west again, if you saw the Albion fan with a Cornish scarf then you may have seen me cheering on the Pirates in this one.

Some of Pirates handling was class, the way the ball was being chucked about and the takes.

You stopped Hartpury getting a bonus point too, thought that was something you should be pleased about as following the results of the championship have seen Hartpury get something each week. It actually turns out to be the difference in you being clear of them in the table point wise.

The cup break must have done Pirates good - before it I thought what was encouraging for you guys was that you were still picking up bonus points etc, now you have a few wins (including the cup).

A good day out once more.
