According to TRP Chris is on his way to Leeds. Disappointing

New money at Carnegie maybe? If he is going there then I wish him all the best. Lovely bloke. Don't know about you but I'm more than happy with Gaves and Paves, working wonders with so little resources, imagine what they could do with a little more.

It seems a strange move when the majority of posters on the YC forum suggest that they have very little money and a number of their players have already left or are leaving. It suggests that Chris Stirling has signed a 2 year contract while their existing coaches have been given a 1yr extension and an anticipated promotion push in 2 years.

As long as they can afford it, good luck to them. Just wonder if they're spending money they haven't got in a bid to get to the Prem before it's ring fenced. London Irish look vulnerable, but will come down with the ridiculous parachute payment, so will still be favourites to go back up. Ealing are making a big push and have some money behind them - they'll be in the mix next season. Meanwhile, we still wait on the S4C....

Carnegie fan here, after lots of disappointing news this season, it looks like at long last we have got an excellent DoR. Leeds/Yorkshire certainly aren't spending money we have not got: we have a new board who under-write each years losses, it is just that they have seen money squandered in the past and only want to "invest" when there is a chance of promotion. This season was a write-off as Bristol have such enormous reserves, we think that the "Ealing Plan" of spending a lot to come second is not right. Chris' initial brief is to review our current operations and come up with a plan that could lead to promotion, which seems to make sense.
Seems from your comments above we have the right person!

You have - he is a top man and very smart. Also a real gent, very popular at our club, we were gutted when he left.

I would suggest that Irish will be red hot favourites - they've put together a rather experienced coaching team for next season in Declan Kidney and Les Kiss!

True enough - the relegated team are seemingly always going to be favourites, but Chris must think there is a chance (could be the season after) otherwise he wouldn't have come.

Of course there is the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, perhaps he fancies a couple of years climbing the Yorkshire peaks?
