A report in today's Cornwall Live that Exeter planners have given the go ahead for a 25 million new hotel adjacent to their Sandy Park ground.
They certainly know how to make a successful business out of running a rugby club......perhaps something similar for Langarth, maybe ???

But Exeter have a Council that appreciates the merits of having a successful sporting business and is behind them all the way.

Yes I know our council eventually came on board but it was a ten year struggle to get there.

Too true, Arfur. The default position in Cornwall seems to be to say no.

Good luck to them-has been mooted at Sandy Park for several years.

Perhaps Pirates best hope of being a sustainable top level club longer term is similar but probably the other way around. A successful leisure/tourist/conferencing/education business in Cornwall with Cornish Pirates rugby as the brand face to the outside world.

This is an example of the difference between the councils and not the similarities.

We have still yet to the S4C built, and after how long for goodness sake!

Hantsboy the S4C is making good progress under the sound direction of the partners.I spent 8 years of campaigning with the S4C group and now pleased the majority of Councillors and the Cornwall Council CEO fully support the project. The project was delayed by a leading Naysayer for 5 years fortunately she is no longer a Cornwall Councillor.

Leicester Tigers are in the process of building a hotel next to their ground. Unsure when this will be getting off the ground but know it will be firly soon.
