Amazing result for Richmond today beating Ealing, didn't see that coming.
Donny beat Bedford today, so a BP win against Jersey tomorrow and we'll be third!

Robin Wedlake misses the game due to illness so Dan Koster takes his place on the wing and AJ Cant comes onto the bench.

It was very close. Both teams made errors in the difficult conditions. Lineout was a problem - again. Cargs missed two very kickable penalties which would have won us the game. Jersey are a very efficient team and their defence was solid. We scored one lovely try, they scored one. Fine margins.

In a game between 2 evenly matched teams played in difficult conditions it was always going to come down to fine margins to determine the outcome. We competed very well against a much bigger Jersey pack but not for the first time this season our line out malfunctioned at crucial times. Jersey played a very conservative game through their forwards and rarely troubled us out wide. We looked the more dangerous side with ball in hand but didn't capitalise on the few opportunities that we had.The effort from the players was clear for all to see but we just lacked the accuracy at critical times.

On a positive note, I thought Maliq Holden was excellent at full back today.

A belated thanks lads for your brilliant banter in the Newlyn End terrace & hospitality in the clubhouse and tent after the match yesterday. Particular thanks to Eugene for keeping me mainly out of trouble & Phil Westren - a true legend. The Benbow seems to have changed a bit - a much younger set although the beer was first class - but the Dock was on brilliant form - great landlord, beer & breakfasts. There was next to nothing between the two sides on the pitch and if that lad had made just one of those kicks the result may well have gone Pirates way. I hope I'm still able to get back to Penzance for next season and one day see Jersey play in your new S4C. All the best CC
