Garbage, Subsequent Sublime Writing, Cov Memories

I don't do this normally, and don't particularly like doing it, but I've been encouraged to share this by someone else who contributes to this board.
The 'Garbage' refers to the preamble.
The 'Sublime Writing' is attributable to a real professional.
The 'Cov Memories' is obvious.

I think the preamble is good stuff, Kimbo.
Evocative and something many of us can remember in our different ways.

Great stuff, Steve. Evocative and poignant. Good to see the blog is back.

Not the blog I started a few years back Tim. Nothing like it.

(BTW, what did I do to upset you? Just wondered).

Steve, not the worst 30 minutes of my life today. I really enjoyed my journey through your thoughts and efforts.
I also was at Woodlands and knew Jack Pilbin and, like you , felt his blistering, forceful admonishments. My rugby playing ended in a house v house semi-final encounter, Brook v Malins, when a found myself bent like a safety pin when propping against Lee Johnson. God, did I suffer. It was no surprise when Lee went to Cov.
Didnít know Terry Hall, but knew Steve Hall when he was at Barkers, then Cov, then back to Barkers. Barkers still hold a place in my heart.

Please donít hide it away, go for it 100%.

Paul

Thank you Paul. Much appreciated.
I too recall inter-house matches, playing for Cresswell, particularly coming up against one Dave Foulks. Not the biggest, but one of the hardest opponents.
Happy days though. Never to be repeated.

I'll take that Ubu one day - when I'm not driving...

Played with John Addleton at Jaguar/Daimler/Climax, he was a great gent and cannot believe he found himself in a row with a female supporter from the opposition.

You know what Kimbo, for an Estonian who made a living out of explaining how indicator stalks work, there's some properly good stuff there. smiling smiley

Please do some more when you get the time, it's terrific. And I even learnt a new word, 'avoirdupois'. Tremendous.

Cheers,

Russ.
