Here's the official report:

plymouthalbion.com

Good weather, and much more of a game than you might have expected for a pre-season fixture. £10 on the gate seemed a bit cheeky on arrival, but reflected well in hindsight. Just over 1 000 in attendance. Tom C-D and Billy Keast (+ maybe more) are there now, of course. Good solid exercise in absorbing and exerting pressure. But CPs are bigger, faster and more mobile - as you'd expect. We certainly gave them a game second half, though - especially in the scrum...

Looks like Monday will be the final chance to sort out the last signings and add a final polish to tactics, etc. Overall, I think we're in good shape for the trip up to Blackheath, who went down 21 - 38 to Bedford yesterday.

Come cheer up, my lads - 'tis to glory we steer!

Watching the game yesterday at Pirats I noticed how Albion's new shirt's seemed to blend in with the background (bit like dazzle camouflage) whereas the Pirats shirts stuck out like the dogs "dangly bits"
Just me musing . Brilliant team performance , adapted second half . Get better soon Robin

Eventually the Pirates front row were all former Albion players. Keast, Cowan-Dickie and Judge. The Albion front row put theirs under severe pressure in the second half. Pirates rarely managed to get into Albion's 22 in the second half. A very encouraging performance.

PS Albi Travel welcome more passengers for the trip to Blackheath next Saturday, bargain price of £25 per person. Book on line or at tomorrows game.

Trying to draw a line between the two games.

Did Albion lift their game between these two matches against Chamionship teams OR are Bedford a much better team than Penzance .... OR did Penzance simply turn off at half time??

Albion developed as a result of the game at Bedford, there the forwards showed promise in the set pieces. It was a more rounded performance at the Pirates.
