I am getting close to revoking my membership of this site. I am absolutely PIG SICK of having WONGA.COM and some MOVIE stuff starting in new windows without my requesting them.

STOP IT - or I walk.

The buffoons that write this sort of stupid interruptions into my life haven't got the intelligence to make it multi-browser so those who use Safari are possibly immune.

Once Apple have dominated the World the hackers will be after them as well.

Grumpy? Yes I am. I hate this intrusion.

And my i-pad is better than your i-pad.

Completely agree.

This, and also the adverts "on page" so to speak slow down the page loading time considerably.

Fully appreciate the fact that Adverts finance the running of forums...but surely they can be kept to a bare minimum!

I don't get the popups (or pop unders) on my laptop using either IE8 or Chrome. I get Wonga pop unders at work using IE8, so it must be possible to stop them, although I'm not sure what I have done here to prevent them coming up.

I get them on work PC and personal, both using IE9 and before was IE8. I have today changed to Safari on personal PC and it still happens. So CRW, I'm with you.

I think we've had a debate about this before and Moorsman suggested using the complaints tag at bottom. I did and never even got an acknowledgement.

It seems to make no difference what is being used and I also suspect something on this site is the reason why my PC is running very slow, but can't prove what it is, it seems t have 75 - 85 % memory running all the time. I reckon there is a cookie being picked up everytime I go to this site. I clean the PC regularly but things start slowing down after been on here.

Well, Mrs Seaside says , and I have just proven her theory, that other prem clubs rugby network sites ( accessed from the rugby tab at top of page) don't all do it and start up adverts.

Newcastle did right away, but Irish, Glaws, and Tigers did not do anything and there is less stuff on the site. So this has to be what is advertising on the Chiefs tribe.

So what's going on?

If your using Firefox try using Add Block Plus.

It works very well. You will find though that it will block premireship TV flash player but its quite easy to unblock.

If you don't have Firefox you can get it from here.

I Think it also works with Google Chrome.

I use IE9 with Norton 360, no popups but frequent "block" reports which can sometimes slow things down.

Will be interested in SNs responce Moorsman.

We all need to be aware thast the site only exists thanks to advertising but there need sto be a balance.

I use Firefox and on HoHookee's recommendation have installed ABP. Very good it is too - thank 'ee

Exter Lad - I like to be able to choose whether I want to see something. I have put up with the Ads on this site becuase they finance it. I block pop-ups because they slow things down. What I have found increasingly annoying is the way that SN seem to think it is acceptable to open a completely new Browser window advertising a site whose practices I find morally repugnant.

And I had drunk a bottle of (very nice but 14%) wine smiling smiley
