Little Plums, think you might need to look at the second player on your list.

Yeah, I snipped this from here a while ago before whatever shenanigans went on with Luke. I just copied it back without reviewing. Oops!

with the new season underway, will there be a change in the team/squad photo at the top of the front page?

Good to see the picture has been updated to current squad but could someone put the names to the faces as there are plenty I don't recognise, presumably up and coming academy players.

Looking at the new squad photo, I thought that all front row (of photo) previous had one finger folded over except the captain. It looks at though this is still the case but now TJ has all fingers clenched. Out of curiosity, why is this?

based on the above information I hope RB is having some conversations regarding contract renewals.

my thoughts below, what do others think?

Out of contract in summer 2015:
Don Arniand, 2 yrs - Like to see renewed
Luke Arscott, 2yrs - gone
Greg Bateman, 2 yrs - cant see Greg being offered a new contract
Alex Brown, 2yrs did will last season haven't seen much of Brown this season, undecided as to whether he will get a renewal
Will Chudley, 2yrs probably will depend on how well Dave Lewis comes back and whether Haydn gets another year but probably offered new contract
Phil Dollman, 2yrs another 2 years
Kai Horstmann. lyr think this might be Kais last season
Tom James, 2yrs
Matt Jess, 2yrs another 2 years
Dave Lewis, 2yrs would like to see Dave get offered a new contract
Ben Moon, 2yrs like to see Mooner get offered a new contract
Sireli Naqelevuki, 2yrs I don't forsee Sireli having a new contract
Jack Nowell, 2yrs thought he had already signed an extension if not give Jack a pen now Rob
Carl Rimmer, 2yrs
Jim Scaysbrook, 2yrs possibly not going to see another season for Scaysbrook
Henry Slade, 2yrs thought he had already signed an extension if not give Slade a pen now Rob
Gareth Steenson, 2yrs yes please more of the same for Steeno
Brett Sturgess, 2yrs his return from injury will tell, maybe another year?
Ceri Sweeney, lyr if he keeps giving experience advise to youngtsters then might see Sweeney again but this could be last season.
Haydn Thomas. lyr (another year option)
Ben White. 2yrs another 2 years pleas Rob
Fetu’u Vainikolo, 2 yrs

Jack Nowell & Henry Slade did both sign extensions to summer 2017 before the start of the season (here and here)

Rob did the same with LCD and Sam Hill so they are also contracted with us until 2017.

Given how these guys are now firmly in the 1st team and pushing for England recognition, how shrewd was Rob (again!) to get them to extend when he did!?

Out of contract in summer 2015: E&E article mentions

Quote:
The Welshman was one of around 20 players whose deal was coming to an end in the summer
Read more: [www.exeterexpressandecho.co.uk]

From our list:

Quote:
Don Armand
Greg Bateman
Alex Brown
Will Chudley
Kai Horstmann
Tom James
Matt Jess
Dave Lewis
Ben Moon
Sireli Naqelevuki
Carl Rimmer
Jerry Sexton
Jim Scaysbrook
Gareth Steenson
Brett Sturgess
Ceri Sweeney
Haydn Thomas (NB was given another year option when resigned last year)
Ben White
Fetu’u Vainikolo

Added Sexton to the list, and I seem to remember reading Will Carrick-Smith had an annual review on his academy contract?

Looking at the above list, there are some obvious re-signs (I count 8), but given it is RWC year next season, I am quite excited to think of some of the names we could attract, given I can see quite a few not staying amongst those out of contract, freeing up some room in the budget? Plus of course some of the academy will be looking to step up.

It is interesting, and possibly alarming, that all of our main scrum halfs are up for renewal, although I have little doubt Rob has things under control.

Hi there ! I'm a french Lyon rugby supporter. First of all, congrats for your almost qualification in Challenge Cup.
Then, I just wanted to know your opinion regarding Hoani Tui, right prop that came this summer in Lyon.
When we got his sign, this player was discribed as last season best Premiership prop. Actuelly, before beginning the physical pre-season preparation, he was getting injured (neck) and has done a surgery.
He came back on the pitch several weeks ago, seems to be correct for the moment but does not look as the strong scrum player he was described before coming in Lyon.

What are your opinion about this player ?

He developed well whilst here and was a reliable and popular prop. He didn't take any nonsense! Although he attracted more than his share of yellow cards, this was more from his commitment than careless play.
I'm sorry to hear he's undergone surgery and hope he makes a full recovery.

He was a crowd favourite and in my opinion an immense prop who could mix it with the very best. In his last season he was penalised quite a bit but that may have been because he was carrying an injury. I hope he repatures some of his form for you.

Very pleasing to see Hill, Francis and Lees sign-on till at least 2017. The one obvious name from the list of out-of-contracts end of this season is Dave Ewers. We definitely need to get him tied down to a new long-term deal. He definitely represents the future success of the club.

Elvis Taione - 2016
Damian Welch - 2016
Jerry Sexton - 2016
Kai Horseman - 2016
Byron McGuigan - 2016
Chrysander Botha - 2016
Ian Whitten - 2016
James Short - 2016
Adam Hughes - 2016

With Ewers, Yenz, Lees and Hill re-signed already, the big work is done.

Expect Short to stay, but too early to re-sign as he has only just arrived! Hope to see him signed up by Xmas!

Of the others,

I would like to keep Whitten, as he is so versatile.
Taione - Rob likes to have 4 hookers,
Welsh - if his body stays strong then keep, but he is 34 in the summer.
Low - needs to be starting and performing well in the next few months to get another deal.

The others will be decided at the end of the season I would have thought.

Updated -

Good to see Short, Whitten, Welch and Taoine resigned.

Great news To see J Hill and Don extend.

Don's signing is a bit weird in that he was announced as signing a new 3 year deal in July 2016, and now a 2 year deal today- presumably better terms offered?

Hayden Thomas - ?

That's a seriously good squad, with very few left to re-sign. Add to that the likes of young Marcus Street - can't be too bad a tighthead to be eligible for u18 but called up to Eng u20 squad.

Plus two more high quality signings according to RB, one strongly rumoured to be Southern Hemisphere back 3 player
