I wanna finish top!!
After watching Sarries beat Munster.....quite convincingly I really don't fancy facing them in the play offs...they look worryingly good!

All the sides in the top four are good and all can beat each other. The only difference between winning or losing in the semi final is a good day out at HQ. I'm looking forward to a good day out, bring it on.

Sarries should be applauded and followed as the model club! Seem to have kept the best of the amateur era whilst embracing professionalism! Luckily for Exeter it seems we're not too far behind them both off and on the pitch!

They have 5 lions and I'd start all if them

Sorry, is there some irony I'm missing in your post Footy Chief?

Unfortunately not.. I genuinely admire them...

Players seem ridiculously happy to play for the club, they buy into the Wolfpack ethos and stay for years and just seem to get better and better. They own their own ground and the academy is also now flourishing.

Yes they may have exploited the cap to get there but now they're packed full of England's finest and foreigners like Bosch who have grown with the club.

You just have to look at the dressing room after the games to see how much they enjoy being a Saracen!

Chiefs are excellent and my post wasn't meant to diminish our achievements

Great performance to win out in Ireland but I wouldn't call them a model club to follow in all respects. Without their rich backers they would be on Queer Street long ago. They lost £3.3m last season which was marginally better than the previous season when they lost £4.0m! Their wage bill increased to £10.2m from £9.8m. Meanwhile Exeter increased their profits from £1.8m to £2.1m whilst increasing their wage bill from £6.9m to £8.6m.
They are not the only club recording losses, in fact only Exeter and Saints operated at a profit last year.

Saracens Limited don't own their own ground, it is owned by Saracens Copthall LLP and rented to Saracens. This may seem like semantics given Nigel Wray's connection with the two, but is factual.

I have no doubt players enjoy playing for Saracens. They have a habit of winning and judging by the wage bills are well remunerated. There is more than one way to skin a cat and I am equally certain the players and their families are well looked after. There would seem little incentive to go elsewhere.

I also recognise the ability for this to sound like sour grapes, Boldngrey. We have seen from other clubs that money doesn't always equal success (I'll let you fill in your own gaps here), so I don't want to take anything away from Mark McCall who has gelled players together into a winning team, let me make that perfectly clear.

But an exemplar for other clubs to follow? No, thank you.

Other than a hard core of loyal (and crazy in a good way) fans, I can see no remnants of an amateur era. Make no bones about it, this is professional; no amateur club could sustain losses to any extent for an extended period. Is there anything about Saracens that is either ethical or sustainable? People may point to Nigel Wray's fortune, which is fine, but it is not a shining beacon of the best way of running a rugby club. I am also not so blinkered that I don't see the need for professionalism and its inevitable march into the game we all love, but let's not turn our sport into the haves and have nots and address this before it goes too far.

There is a lot to be admired in Saracens, but not for the reasons you have cited.

I agree with Little Plums but I really do admire Sarries machine like winning mentality.
However IMO the Chiefs have the more fluent style that a). Is better to watch, b).Has the art to create some beautiful rugby and c). Repeat of a).
Quod erat demonstrandum.

On our day we can beat anyone.

Actually, They have 6 lions, with Liam Williams about to join them too. The rest of your post is equally inaccurate imho, but each to their own! I will agree that they are a VERY impressive rugby team

Say what you will about the way Sarries do things but beating Munster on their side of the pond(albeit not on their own turf) takes some doing. Brilliant performance and fingers crossed they defend their European trophy at least.

Hi, I don't wish to intrude but what does appear to have passed many people by regarding the Lions is the fact that both Vunipola's arrived at the club prior to reaching 21. The other 4 are all products of the Academy.

Anyway, on a lighter note, the Sarries and Glawster results both play into our hands as fatigue and a willingness to rest players may affect these teams.

I hope.

There are many things to admire about Sarries and they all revolve about what happens on the pitch and I have total respect for that.
What happens off it is the opposite end of the spectrum and I for one will never forgive the lack of respect from the "fat lady singing" incidents.
To do it once was bad enough but to repeat it was totally unforgivable.
Very unprofessional and the opposite of being role models off the pitch.

At the time when I heard this I thought doing it a second time was truly poor, however those looking at the big screen for that game let me know that it was merely a rather poorly managed apology.

The second one was a short mini-clip of it, with a written (to paraphrase exact words) "we mucked up" on the big screen.
