Well, if no-one else wants to............I thought it was a controlled performance against a far weaker side. Chiefs have no control over the strength of the opposition. Our squad was/is very strong but thats testament to the recruitment and the development RB and the coaches have achieved. It didn't happen overnight but long-term planning seems to be a Chiefs strength.

Job done.

Thoroughly professional performance, could have been a potential banana skin, 12-0 at half time but it was clear that this brave young Scarlets team were wilting and our pack dominated the second half. Hopefully our failure to not score more tries will not come back to bite us in this strong pool! Felt sorry for Matt Kvesic who was denied two touch downs by our prolific scorer Penalty Try!

It was exactly what we needed in some respects.
Getting game time into players that haven't played this season or had very much rugby was the best outcome of the game and was very much required.
Not much else to be gleaned from it.
I know it was greasy but we didn't protect the ball well enough, some of the passing was woeful and the fact we only scored one try through the backs with all that possession was disappointing but understandable given the lack of game time.
Having said all that I thought the young Scarlets team thrown together from feeder clubs showed great heart and battling qualities and it was only our power in the pack that in the end overwhelmed them.
Definitely a very beneficial experience and hopefully no lasting after affects for the returning players or to Kai.

Big applause for a young Scarlets team, they were really up against a strong Exeter outfit and just ran out of steam. But boy, we have such strength in depth don’t we! Things are really looking up for us at present, what a testament to Rob and his team.

Good luck to Scarlets. (Sm152)

Felt a bit bad for the Scarlets as we clearly had very different uses for the competition - they used it to develop young players, we used it to bring back injured players. The trouble is we have the A-league for bringing young players in, not to mention dual-registration. There are a few pathways for our young players to be introduced through.

Does anyone know the size of the crowd at Scarlets? Like to keep a record but not on the match report on the Chiefs or Scarlets site.
Also, in the Telegraph this morning they’re showing Quins above us in AW table when we have a better points difference and have scored more tries!

Three penalty tries, does that mean the ref had to buy a jug??

Positives

1) It was great to see a number of long term injured "first choice" players getting some decent game time.

2) I thought Malton in particular did well with ball in hand and Maunder improved things when he came on.

3) Won 0- 40 away from home with a side who haven't played a lot of games together.

That said, although the Scarlet's showed a lot of guts and the conditions didn't help I thought the chiefs handling and phase play was poor. Also considering the obvious physical mismatches what was the point of going for penalty tries/pushovers in the second 1/2. Some of the Scarlets would probably not be first choice for Taunton!

We are top with 13 tries compared to Quins 11 but with 2 games left there is still a good chance chance that if both ourselves and Quins win the remaining games we may not qualify if Quins end up with more tries. Points difference only comes into it if number of tries is equal.
Maybe getting ahead of myself but we could go out despite winning all our games with bonus points!
Maybe a last game shootout on the cards.....

Only caught the late night replay but flipping hell...was dissapointed by the Scarlets performance(Welsh Chief said it best) but you have to beat what's put in front of you and unlike the Northampton match we proved to be bulletproof.

What's more, a team from another group could possibly go through having only won one or two games (or even none theoretically) and yet topping their group. "Weird" doesn't do it justice.

The forwards did what they had to do, and Ewers looked good for a first game back. Give the dominance in the scrum, the maul did not seem to make much ground. Also no of the backs really stood out given the dominance of the pack.

But it was pro man against boys who do not all play for the same team, like the Cardiff result, this is not sport. It would have been better sport against a full strength Bristol, Leeds or Nottingham side were the crowd would be excited to play a Premiership club in the cup.
