Turn it up Loud

Turn it up, Turn it up loud!!!!

Because 31st December brings a wonderful year for all connected to Exeter Chiefs & tomorrow is a chance to -

A) to recognise the truly fantastic effort of the last twelve months put in by all at the club, from the friendly stewards to the dedicated individuals that mastermind arguably the fittest players in the Premiership. To the brains trust led by Sir Rob Baxter (“crowned by the tribe”), that produce the innovative & well played plans, constantly improving and learning by mistakes, taking youngsters from our Devon way & turning them into top class premiership players, England internationals & even a British & Irish Lion. Or picking hid gems from the “English” championship & unleashing the potential with support

I will never forget the move the set our post boy Jack Nowell flying of the back of a line out move set up by his boyhood mate LCD (whom should be in the latest England squad) over the hollowed HQ turf on that sunny day in May. I was fortunate enough to speak to Ali Hepher just minutes before the victory parade (were even the heads of Exeter did an oggy oggy oggy) & Ali confirmed to me it was a training ground move.

All of this is done unlike the majority of the league, in my opinion the correct way by making a profit and making the club sustainable for the long term future.

cool smiley To always a sad time to say goodbye to someone that has put a lot into the club & unfortunately, We read it will be Chris Bentley's last game in a professional capacity at Chiefs. I remember seeing the lock come back row forward affectionately known as Bentos giving his all on the pitch, But I also remember him going the extra mile and working on the Tribe (the Taylor Swift show ) which I was a regular listener to & thoroughly enjoyed streaming. So Chris I am sure I speak for the many, we appreciate the impact you have made on the club & wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life, you are always welcome in the Library just don't stand in front of me....

Now to the game its self, some lazy journalists may label it the champions of 2017 vs the most historic name in English rugby. Famous for its pack which in the past include a who's who of English legends from Deano to Neil Back & of course (the man with a holiday home just outside my town) Martin Johnston. Ok form would suggest a home victory but rugby games are not won by form or pundits views or Chiefs would still be in the championship somewhere hey Mr Guscott....

Tigers have an all international front row with an lions hooker on the Bench (whom our best wishes go to for his family in 2018 & onwards). Experienced pair of Locks with a beefy back row to try and hold our pack.

In the backs comes the England 9 – 10 pairing, with English speedster May on the wing (rightly playing in my view), with the talented centres of a fit again Manu Tuilagi joined by Aussie International Matt Toomua, the under rated Adam Thompstone on the other wing. At full back is former golden hope Matt Tait, who despite feeling like he has played for ages is only 31.

After inflicting defeat on us at Welford Road (20 - 13) Its time to turn up the volume on the chop & gain revenge. As the tank inferred the home crowd makes a positive difference, its time to start another long winning run at Sandy Park, as we aim to top the table for the season & head to Twickers again. The LV cup side & braves also are looking in great place for 2018

We won't give up on the European adventure, its not our style. As is kicking to the corners and creating pressure, keeping the ball in play & enjoying our rugby whilst not taking ourselves to seriously.

So as tickets are like gold dust, PLEASE those lucky enough to attend & not have to listen to “Ego” Monye on BT. Make the most of the ticket and back OUR Exeter Chiefs, Loud and Proud, don't wait for the person next to you, just as the players cant duck out of a tackle. Lets show the passion for rugby down in the wild west of Devon way & end the year 2017 in the style it deserves.

etnchief = genius

I suggest you read that out to the lads just before kick-off

And as I echo others, “turn it up to 11, because 11 is loudest”...

(Apologies if slight misquote of “Tap” poetry...)
