That's a very well written post.
I think at the top level consistent failure to hit your man in the line out is really not acceptable. As you have said the coaching team will have all the stats and perhaps we don't get a full picture from the terraces but I would hope that if there wasn't improvement another hooker was given game time or perhaps the squad was strengthened in the summer.
How do we know Malton has the best throw in the club by the way? (Is it widely accepted or just your belief).

First-up I want to say Jack Yeandle is a fine rugby player. However his accuracy on vital lineouts is lacking. Yes, on occasion it IS the jumpers mis-timing their leap but this issue seems to be occuring regularly. An example today saw Jack throwing to the back, close to the Tigers five metre line. His throw was looped high and went long. How many sides on their own five metre line risk contesting the lineout? A very low percentage I would say as by doing so they negate players from defending the driving maul. This long, looping throw occured again in our own twenty-two.
Later Jack through a low flat ball to the back which hit the reciever. Now, no-one can expect spot-on-accuate throws every time but Jack Yeandle seems to miss the important ones more than most. Last season LCD seemed to have the same problem.
IMHO LCD is our first choice hooker. IMHO Shaun Moulton should be given a prolonged chance on the bench or even as a starter if LCD is injured. SM has the best throw in the club and is dynamic and intelligent in open play.
Again, however, JY has dotted down two last minute tries for bonus points in the last two games. Do these tries cancel out missed scoring opportunities from poor throws?
Obviously as we are on a great winning run and we are well clear at the top of the Premiership this issue has had little impact.
Without doubt the statistitions feed the coaches every piece of data within a game. Wnen the supporters on the terrace are predicting an outcome of a throw, the coaches will be working on the issue for sure. But percentages in training do not always equate to success in a game.
I want JY to succeed. Chiefs are top drawer but if the coaches resolve this weakness everything becomes much easier.
IMHO

Well Done Sir ... great post ....
JY is a key part of the team and identifying ways to maintain and support development of a key skill area must be a focus for the coaching team.
As a fine team leader, I'd hope JY has recognises this area of potential weakness that only he can address.
As a professional sportsman with top class coaching support available to him .... conundrum is just the word to describe where he is with evident or consistent improvement still to be shown in this area.

I think that we are being a bit harsh. In the stands the weather can be deceptive. The wind yesterday was gusting force 6=7 during the game. Diagonally across the pitch. Slade kicked one that people cheered until it hit the weather going up and stopped dead.
SM will get his chance but Rob lets his players grow into a place,
I remember a talk at members' forum about our structure. We hang on to experienced front row well beyond their ability to play a regular 80 minutes. Just think of Chris Budgen. Impact off the bench and a good 30 minutes in him. They are there because there needs to be two premiership scrums in the team, At our level there is nobody else to train against. Rob explained that tn his time the scrum was putting 1 ton through the front row's shoulders. It is now 2.5 tons.Sme reason we don't hook now. It is dangerous.
I am pretty sure we would not have got the BP with Elvis on the pitch. His penalty count is too high. SM has the same issue but is improving.
Lets not overreact and trust in Rob.
I feel sorry for Olly and Don. I know D got MOM but that was clearly Jack. Eddie was behind us and writing vigorously. I hope he has seen enough TV coverage to see what they could offer.
Onward.

Like many others I get frustrated when an opportunity goes astray from a missed line out throw. It could be timing of the jumper or the thrower.
This however happens to many teams and JY is not alone but sometimes conditions are difficult - wet ball or strong wind and on balance I cannot ignore the massive contribution he has made to the overall success of the team. LCD has had long spells out with injury and JY has filled the jersey with solid performances.
He is a 100% player and his tackling and work rate across the field cannot be faulted, indeed his ball retention on the whole is good just needs to look for the offload a little more but you can't ignore two tries in two games from the bench would take this every day!!!
In summary he is in the spotlight because it's a start of the set piece I am comfortable that he and the coaches are working hard to improve this aspect but others miss tackles, drop balls etc and are we as critical I suspect not !
Great forward effort Sunday (they won the battle second half) if not Don Sam Skinner was my MOM a future club captain I would suggest

You all seem to have missed the point that we didnt have our first choice lineout jumpers in Hill, Skinner and Armand so a lot was going to fall on Kvesic and Atkins and they are not in the same category. Falcons knew this so put Yenz under pressure to hit them and they got it right.
