Last week they had about 3 first teamers this week about 11 or 12, very unfair.

Like the look of our squad plenty of pace and power. With readers to their selection shows how much they feared another drubbing maybe.

Just the 13 new faces in their squad compared to last week - they won't know each other smiling smiley

A couple of first choice players and a couple of bench warmers for Glasgow.
They won't lay down, But at the same time they have little to play for other than pride.

Afternoon! Last week the only fit, not suspended players in our European squad that were not in the 23 were Gray and Russell.

This is Hoggy’s first game since NZ, Sarto’s first since 1 December, Seymour’s first since 23 December (and on form if not quality he would arguably not be first pick recently), Dunbar’s first since 30 December, and Turner has been banned since round 3 vs Montpellier (and wouldn’t be first pick anyway).

We’re still very lightweight up front, so I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you. The one to look out for is young George Horne at scrum-half - he looks like he’s going to be the absolute mutt’s nuts in time.

Anyhoo - enjoy! Just started snowing heavily again here, but should be fine for tomorrow.

Am i wrong to think Baxter has regularly rotated your team in previous years in Europe? I'm going from memory, but may well be wrong. If not, presumably Bald Eagle thought that was unfair too?

Until there is no chance of qualifying Exeter always field their strongest side, two seasons back we beat Ospreys with a bonus point and qualified top of our group with 16 points due to other sides failings.
Hopefully we can get a result tomorrow against a strong Glasgow team but pride is a great motivator!

We did play a "weakened" team away in Bordeaux in Jan 2016, when we looked dead and buried in the group.

Quote:
team sheet
Exeter: 15 Byron McGuigan, 14 Olly Woodburn, 13 Michele Campagnaro, 12 Max Bodilly, 11 Matt Jess, 10 Will Hooley, 9 Dave Lewis, 8 Kai Horstmann (c), 7 Ben White, 6 Tom Johnson, 5 Jonny Hill, 4 Ollie Atkins, 3 Alex Brown, 2 Elvis Taione, 1 Moray Low.
Replacements: 16 Shaun Malton, 17 Alec Hepburn, 18 Carl Rimmer, 19 Sam Skinner, 20 Julian Salvi, 21 Haydn Thomas, 22 Gareth Steenson, 23 Chrysander Botha.

The difference between that and the team Tigers put out last week was the performance -losing narrowly 34-27 after a spirited performance, where the youngsters will have learnt from the experience.

Of course events unfolded that season in Clemont such that the LBP secured saw us qualify against all odds.

For comparison, The team fielded v Ospreys for the final pool game, when we qualified was

Quote:
team sheet
Exeter: Phil Dollman; Olly Woodburn, Michele Campagnaro, Ian Whitten, James Short; Gareth Steenson, Dave Lewis; Alec Hepburn, Jack Yeandle (C), Alex Brown; Jonny Hill, Geoff Parling; Kai Horstmann, Don Armand, Thomas Waldrom.
Replacements: Elvis Taione, Ben Moon, Harry Williams, Ollie Atkins, Tom Johnson, Haydn Thomas, Will Hooley, Max Bodilly.

Hey guys, as a resident of Glasgow now I’ll be there cheering you on. If a bloke from Newcastle with no friends starts to talk to you in the pub about the game it’s likely to be me! Good luck for today.

As Father Alice says, the approach taken was the same it just worked a bit better for you!

I don't know if any of you watched our (Tigers) game away in Castres but with any kind of a competent maul\ line out we would have got a similar score to the one you did in Bordeaux, we must have kicked to the corner 10-12 times without scoring.
