Great win by Saints over Quins. We now need 5 pts over Sarries to qualify for the semi final, we already have a better pts difference over Quins and over Saints. Now depends on the results of the other two games to see if we get a home semi final

Someone please check my sums

A bp win tomorrow will get us a semi final spot but to get a home tie we need to score 2 tries more than Newcastle (if they get a bp win against Gloucester )

Has there ever been a more complicated format. I think you calculations are correct Mabolza.
if we get to 15pts we have a better pts difference than Quins/Saints and Tigers if they get 5 pts at Falcons. If Falcons only get a win we have a home semi final. But it all comes down to us getting 5 pts

Falcons points difference is 11 better than Chiefs' If they get a BP win we not only need two tries more than them but also need to score 12 points more than them.

Saints certainly did us a favour but, playing a virtually first team 23 they were pretty much odds on against a young and patched up Quins side.

Who cares about points difference, at least we have a game which is not a dead rubber - home or away we will make a game of it!

Mabolza is quite right it's all about tries. We know that we need to score 4 to get the 5th point. That would give us 20 tries for and 15pts. Northampton have 15 pts and 18 tries for so we should be second seeds behind Bath but ahead of Northampton. BUT Newcastle need 4 tries to get to 15 points and that would them give them 22. Realistically therefore we need to score at least 6 tries to be in with a shout of a home semi so no slackening off irrespective of the score (though it doesn't matter how many we concede so long as we win).
Stupid competition isn't it?

Not sure it is stupid Exeforever, unusual maybe, and perhaps adjacent to stupid at times !!! but it's given a fair bit of entertainment over the years....we are still on for a double !!!!!
