Sorry to have to bring you down with a bump, but we only scored 7 tries. Still enough to secure a home semi against Falcons by virtue of scoring 1 more try. That is, of course, assuming that Tigers fail to score 13 tries in a bonus point win at Wasps tomorrow, when they would top group 4.

Falcons it is then.

He is certainly a big unit and had good carries and did a lot of dirty work. Would be better to judge him playing with more first choice pack. The gem today was Cordero, who has real pace and very quick feet. Only surprise was that we did not give him more of the ball, but he is going to be fun to watch!

Great result and another home semi to watch. No idea of the date yet but expect that it will be a pay to view and not part of season ticket deal.

Sorry for the confusion, I have corrected my original post for the second time, I blame the wife! And the drink!

Agreed but I did think VDS got stuck in well and put himself around plenty, our line out also functioned well

Good cover for Lees, Hill, Skinner and Dennis let's see what more time brings for VDS and Salmon.

Attendance yesterday on a 6 Nations week-end - 12,437. That is one heck of a turnout. Well done to the spectators and the marketing department for getting to that number.

I thought this was supposed to be a development competition.

But seriously, a 7 try win over Sarries is a great achievement, and brilliant to have so many future first XVers play well.

try telling Northampton that it's a development competition. More seriously I did suggest last year that clubs should not be allowed to play anyone who had started in at least 2 of their previous 6 premiership games. This would allow you to play players returning from injury or those who have become 2nd XV players irrespective of age (eg Kai Horstmann). It is certainly something we suffered from in the final last year when Burns dictated the game and Leicester played something close to a first choice XV.

but then our young half backs will have learnt loads from the experience, and be much better players for the match. Shame to lose a final of course, but not necessarily a bad thing when you look at the bigger picture.

Different clubs have different priorities. A well run club will use the comp to its advantage, however that may look on the team sheet. Tigers needed a trophy, so no issue with them picking a strong side at the time, but may have suffered for it this year? - 24 first starts this season for Tigers suggests they haven't got a lot of planning in place!
