With Tank off at the end of the season do we need cover for sam at 8 ?

Also can anyone recall if we showed an interest in Ben Morgan a season or so ago?

I see there could be a transfer rumour involving him.

Waldrom showed on Saturday yet again how valuable he is. Without his direct carrying we often lack penetration. Sam Simmonds is a quality replacement but I also feel that we will be lacking a heavy-duty option.

We've tried to sign Ben Morgan a couple of times but I think he is now under contract. However with Ruan Ackermann playing so well perhaps we can prise Morgan away!

If I had to pick just one or two signings for next season (obviosuly assuming we can re-sign the current crop, including Cordero) it would be Morgan and possibly an experienced lock.

Gloucester have replied to them saying Morgan is under contract so think we can write that one off

Much as lots of people can cover the positions I think the priorities are specialist
8
Lock and
15
Props will depend on how quickly the youngsters cone through and how Rimmer recovers from injury
I'm not convinced by Low or Holmes

Where is Courtney Lawes going to?

That would be a coup and would fit our style +++

James Haskell's future could be interesting. Released by Wasps - obviously not by mutual consent as he clearly wanted to stay there - and wants to remain in England so as to qualify for the England squad. Given his commitment seems more to England than to a club, he might be a risk - but he's a heck of a player.

I totally agree with Tom A Hawk. We donít need anymore flankers. We are blessed in that department. Frankly, Waldrom is irreplaceable and he will be sorely missed, especially when Simmonds is away on international duty. Even then i donít think we will be as penetrative without his heavy duty carrying. Ben Morgan is the only like-for-like I can think of. Other than that, Luke Whitelock of the Highlanders is supposedly seeking a contract in the North.

I agree I don't think we can replace Waldrom.

51 tries in 97 games made us a top four side. People will say he only scores from a metre out, but if it is that easy why have lots of other forwards who find themselves a metre out not able to do the same with a try every other game.

With his carrying, how many times do you see Waldrom being turned over? Because he stays on his feet longer in the tackle still going forward it gives extra time for the props to get to him to clear out and keep the ball, he makes are game plan work

He is a very intelligent player with good hands who works hard all game, Morgan is a 20 min player who goes missing in parts of the game.

We may have to tweak our game to suit a new talisman like Simmond
