Unbelievable quality of the Academy signings announced.

Some great prospects added to the squad for next year.

The home grown dream continues. Well done to all concerned

A big step towards Tony Rowe's dream of fielding a locally grown Chiefs team.

As with all clubs the academy is our future.

Quite a staggering achievement to award contracts to so many “home grown players “. Goes to prove you dont have to go shopping to buy a team .. which most of the time doesn’t work..
well done to all at the club and look forward to seeing them progress onwards and upwards

Some real talent in there. Particularly keen to see how the likes of Richard Capstick and Rus Tuima get on. The latter has the physique of Billy Vunipola.

Surprised to see no Sal M’Boge or James Tait or is it too soon for them?

I feel sorry for the clubs we stole them from. (bit of Phil solidarity!)

Good article by Alex Shaw. Can't agree to his use of the word loophole -it is by design to promote home grown players and is a very sensible way to build a squad using decent quality academy players who have the potential to improve greatly with decent coaching.

Some may not play every game, but they allow for a good sized squad allowing rotation and proper training numbers year round, something the smaller sized squad teams seems to struggle with, leading to inevitable bleating about the salary cap, and bad luck with injuries or international call ups.

Very interesting article.
Some of those players are exceptional for their age and if we can keep them playing together understanding each others game etc it can only benefit the team in the long run.
As you say Fatheralice, I know it is a slightly different issue but I found it bizarre that Wasps are planning on having a 39 man squad for next season? After the mistakes that Bath have made with overloading the squad with higher paid players leaving no room for manoeuvre when injuries bite I find it incredible that Wasps are planning to do the same thing?!
If the 39 players is true it seems the adage that money doesn't buy you common sense.
If I was a Wasps player I would be very worried about how much I would be expected/needed to play next season especially if I were an England international as it is the season before the World Cup......

If Tuima is still growing then he may make Billy look like a 9 stone weakling. God knows what they put into kids food these days!

Is Teague any relation to the England legend? If so, have we pinched him from Glocs?
