Thought I would treat SWMBO to prawn sandwiches this Saturday, a nice spot in the West Stand befitting her breeding.

£124.......Yes a £124 for two tickets! For two hours of entertainment!

It’s spilled beer and a pasty in the NT for her again.

I recently enjoyed a full weekend, two full days of non stop sporting entertainment at Thruxton for the British Super Bikes, plus three nights camping.....£52.

Is it just me, or is it massively expensive. Your thoughts please.

It does seem very expensive, but how does it compare to other premiership sides?

I also think the West Stand carries it's own premium as that is the only area of decent seating in the ground.

supply and demand.....

It will be interesting to see how many empty blue seats there are on Saturday, there are plenty still available.

Loads of empty seats for the Tigers game - including a whole section at the north end (250 seats?).
Anyone know why? Allocated to the new sponsor who forgot to invite any guests?

Paid £120.00 for two tickets to sit in the open @ Barf on Oct 5th. If it rains it will be truly miserable....No protection in any direction.

I'll take mine in the West Stand every day !!!

£65 per ticket for the main stand at the Stoop on the 22 or £49 behind the posts,

£52 at Allianz Park in the temp uncovered no leg room stand on the west side or looks like £72 at the bottom of the East stand

Kingsholm have their Main stand tickets for Cat A games which includes Chiefs in both the Prem and Heineken cup at £48 for early bird, £54 for std and £57 if bought within 3hr of ko,
£35, £42 or £45 for the Shed

£56 covered and reasonable room at the Ricoh on Half way

£48 for silver seating at Welford Road for A* games but luckily we're only A category so its £39

£37.50 at AJ Bell for main stand A category incl us

£55 half way in Church's stand at Saints

To name just a few

If you want cheaper seats then where does the money come from? We could lower our ambitions? We are a member owned club so we are not going to run at a loss. You have cheaper options. Many of us have spent £800 on Season Tickets so it is not fair if you decide to sell the empty seat next to me for less than I paid. I am personally happy to pay for the quality game that we now deliver.

Those empty seats are the most lucrative in the ground. The sponsor pays a fortune for them. They are a new brand so it will take time to fill them. The previous sponsor had a similar allocation and took time to fill them.

The club needs to run at a profit and while it is expensive we must remember we are watching top flight rugby here. You cant get any better unless you watch international rugby and you will pay a darn site more for watching that in a decent seat.

In comparison to some it's not that bad a price really for a seat in the main grandstand of a stadium.
I couldn't afford and in truth I'm happier standing up.
Chin up Chiefs, could have been sat behind one of those idiotic headrests wearers..... Now that would be a paintongue sticking out smileywinking smiley

No, I agree JS, I guess that is what it is, and I must admit that is where I was today. SHMBO allowed me a pass to take my mate who has recently had surgery, so standing was not an option, so instead of £124, it cost me £62.But there were a lot of empty seats around us........May have been beacsuse I was wearing my new headress.

I must say, however, there does seem a distinct lack of headress, but trust me, no one will stand or sit in front of me wearing a headress. (Sm100)

You must be a very tough man.
I have a headress, don't wear it often..... Worn it to Twickers and I've always been respectful of others and their view etc..... I won't be told to take it off tho..... I'd normally ask first if the person behind can see at HQ.... Not been asked to take it off yet..... Standing up is different of course.

I am lucky enough to have my seat in West Grandstand, Block D, 2nd row. That means that I am unlucky enough to have my view of most action at the north end totally blocked by the opposition water boys, physios and medics and anyone else who chooses to stand on the touch line in order to get a better view. Despite asking the Club to do something last season, it's still the same. I've asked the steward who mans the gate to the benches to do something about it - nothing. To pay £62 to spend part of the game looking at an opposition tabard is frustrating. Mind you, at least they don't wear headdresses!

I was sat a few rows behind you today, and although I had an uninterrupted view I did think and comment to my mate that those guys should be back where they belong, or at the very least sat or crouched down.

You have my sympathy, it must be very frustratiog, if a spectator stood next to the rail, they would be moved. I would make direct representation to the club, you should not have an interrupted view when paying good money.

I did sit in the West yesterday, and yes it was fantastic, I have been there a dozen or so times in the past, but I just feel you get a better class of people in the West. Far more becoming of my social standing.

I saw no beer spilled, perhaps the odd G&T. I heard or detected no wind being passed, I heard nothing more swear like than the odd “oh gosh”, “that fellow is a dammed good rugger player” or “does that referee know his parentage”. Yes, I must say, it is certainly more me.

I have to,however, confess that I sneaked a common Pasty to my seat disguised as a prawn sandwich, hidden in a copy of yesterday’s Financial Time. I thought I had got away with that one until a Steward notice some crumbage by my feet, he gave me a severe reprimand and threatened to escort me back to the ET, a £20 bung calmed him down. 👍

So all in all, the West Stand gets a big thumbs up from me, but I must wear my cravat next time!

But seriously now, does anyone know if there are any available season tickets left in the West. The offy is a bit iffy, but there were quite a few vacant yesterday.

For a few years I had a season ticket in the main grandstand. Despite paying a small fortune, my seat was way out to the side giving me a great view of the SW Comms stand but not of much rugby. I therefore asked, quite nicely, if I might be able to move further towards the centre, perhaps as far as the 22, but was told this was impossible. I pointed out that there were constantly empty seats at the far end of my row, but was told that, although they were empty, they were actually taken, presumably by people auditioning for the lead role in The Invisible Man. I therefore switched my allegiance to the Library. And I much prefer it. Not only can I afford to eat, but I reckon there’s a far better class of people there. The only blot on what is otherwise an excellent view is the swathes of empty seats in the grandstand opposite!

Well said Old Wing.
I wouldn't wanna move from the Library even if TR paid for my ticket!
The atmosphere is second to none, the people are happy with a pint and a pasty, the odd fart is acceptable, even our Fat Mascot knows the Library is the home of the people.
I thought Steve Knightly emphasised the fact when he played to us at the home semi v Sarries..... what a fantastic day that was.
You can keep your West stand, expensive seats, prawn sarnies....... Give me a library ticket any day

I drink and forget stuff!
