This season all of our points have come from tris and conversions, 17 tries so far and no penalties!

Thanks for the stat. I did wonder about this during the game on Saturday. I can’t remember us kicking for goal from a penalty for ages; we don’t seem to consider anything other than kicking for touch. Very adventurous and yet we seem to be stuck with the ‘boring rugby’ tag!

Yeah, but it is only by Wasps fans from what I have seen on their site. They still seem very bitter over 2017 and recently having the upper hand, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Averaging over 5 tries a match doesn’t offend me to be honest. thumbs down

Wasps fans should look here [www.premiershiprugby.com]

They hardly feature, Chiefs are right up there for the "exciting" stuff, metres, clean breaks, defenders beaten.

It really bothers me how dull we are.

I was thinking of this when Sale immediately kicked their penalties for points last saturday, with no conscideration of using the kick to score a try.

I remember in the early days, that this was always the way, to keep the 'scoreboard ticking over', especially against Sarries when you never knew if a try scoring opportunity would occur.

If anything, that was boring, roll on more five try winning 'boring' games!

Good spot.
Very different approach to league rugby with bonus points etc and the Semi Final against Newcastle last season when no bonus points were on offer and we took a shot at goal with more or less every kickable penalty.

I reckon we will have to take a different approach on Friday night, I think Newcastle away will be our sternest test yet this season.

Quite possibly Chiefs. No doubt that this is our toughest test yet and I think Newcastle's maul defence has been pretty good against us recently.
I don't mind us kicking to the corner a couple of times early to test how good the opposition maul defence is and if we don't get much joy just take the points on offer. I guess a lot of decision taking may depend on the weather anyway

As GJ shared, the stats in this case don't lie. Wasps fans seem to confuse predictability with "boring". All the greats in team and individual sports are/were predictable in the fact that they play/played to their strengths which produced a consistent winning formula.
The supporters at the Ricoh seem to relish an unpredictability that sometimes produces brilliant tries from another planet linked with tries conceded due to a chuck-it about-style.
If thats their preference, fine but they shouldn't moan and groan on their forum asking whats wrong with their players and coaches and berating other teams styles. Their fans seem to demand a type of hit and miss style of rugby and believe everyone should follow their lead. They need to understand that it just won't produce consistency over many seasons as seems to have been shown. Its their choice. Its our choice to revel in the Chiefs style that produces consistent performances that produce many top of the pile stats including tries.
