Andrew Thorne Statement

was a disappointing day to say the least. Today we had a lesson on how far we have to go and how good some of the sides in this league really are. After sitting in the stand listening to the crowd it was a wake up call on how difficult this League actually is. This season we have put so much effort into sorting off the field out to ensure the club is sustainable, the board have taken their eye of the on field stuff.

I fully understand that players donít come into the sport to end up on record beating scores each week and regardless of the reason it is something we have to address quickly.

I canít fault the players commitment and hope the experienced players are in it for the long haul.

We arenít getting the best out of our players and unfortunately I donít think all our players are ready for this level yet.

No Excuses need to be given we just need to look at whatís in our control and make changes.

Thank you to all the players, staff and supporters who have stuck with us and we hope you will continue to help build the sport back in Wales.

Good to hear a communication from Andrew, but concerning that there was not a realisation that players are not ready for this level.

IF the club is on a sound financial footing then I would hope that signings are made soon - and with proven quality L1 experience or above - to stop the rot of high sided scorelines against the team.

This is from the York Press website - "Match rating: a one-sided farce which is only good for the record books and not for the sport. The top half of League One is probably the best itís ever been, but this West Wales team could well be the worst the division has ever seen. Rugby league does need teams in the Principality but sides of this standard should not be left hung out to dry at this level. It is embarrassing not just for the club but for the game as a whole."
