Just wondering if there is any chance of getting this guy Rebels are not giving him a new contract after 2013 season he can play in a few positions i know it is most likely he will either go to another Aussie team or a French team or Japan but i was just going to throw it out there. smiling smiley

Nope.

I think him & Beale will joins the Waratahs. Can't see O'Connor going back to the woeful Western Force. If O'Connor is hung out to dry post-Lions he may shoot off to France.

We probably (if we wanted them) stand more chance of signing Ged Robinson or Gareth Delve as both have to leave Rebels at the end of this season.

The Premiership is not going to attract names like O'Connor unless they come under the marquee player tag. Would've thought France would be a more appealing option anyway.

On another note, what on earth was Deans doing picking him at 10?! Think it would've been 2-1 to the Aussies with Quade at 10.

Deans like most coaches are stuck so far up their own @#$%& they care more about their image of being an inscrutable coach than utilising the best players to win the game FOR THEIR COUNTRY and their supporters WHO PAY MONEY.

Obviously their was truth in what Quade said of the Aussie setup but of course Deans didn't admit fault, instead the Kim Jong Ill dictatorship had to come in because someone spoke their mind. And look at how well Quades playing again, it's a joke.

Deans is a brilliant coach. He came from an environment which he more than anyone created where it is about the team first. That culture still exists today and why after one season SBW realised the Crusaders was not for him. When Cooper calls the environment toxic that goes against everything Deans stands for as he is all for the group. Also the Aussie main problem was in the scrum and Quade is nee prop forward.

I remember Western Force asking Falcons for special dispensation to play him at Kingston Park a few years ago in a pre-season game, as he was below the legal age to play a senior match.

Even as a 16 or 17-year-old he was clearly a huge talent, but with the Aussie Dollar currently very strong I couldn't see him moving, other than for the mega dosh of Japan and France.

Surely winning games is the best way for a coach to.improve his image?

Cooper is a liabilty. He has no idea of when to attack and when to get position/territory. He was all mouth and no action in the last World Cup.For the 1st test, Wallabies had not played a test together since December, Beale had hardly played due to injury etc, O'Connor had hardly ever played at 10, they picked new caps on the wing, centre and as kicker, and at 6. They should have won the first test missing those last 2 kicks, and after losing 3 backs to concussion, the scrum did well for 2 tests then with a northern hemisphere ref suddenly are hopeless, but they could not contain the Lions in the 2nd half who to their credit scored tries instead of just penalties from scrums.Deans has had plenty of time and now with the World Cup 2 years away, someone else must take over.
After losing to the Lions in 1989 due to forward power, the Wallabies won the 1991 World Cup having learnt a few lessons.

Be surprised to see Beale go back to the Tahs and but O Conner would be good for them but then again when all back and fit he'd only make bench.

Kurtley Beale has been suspended twice this season, the first involved him attacking his teammates. It will be a surprise if he stays imo.

With hasbeen Mark Gower leaving RL side London Broncos and getting a contract in the NRL it makes me think there is lack of playmakers in the NRL. It wouldn't surprise if O'Connor got offered a RL deal. The NRL has the biggest TV contract after the NFL for oval ball sports, the teams are cash rich.

Yeah but after leaving the Tahs after they brought him through surely they'll be reluctant to take him back now he has added baggage and not like they're weak in his positions.

Apparently JOC's rather huge salary expectations and a cap amongst the Super Rugby franchises are what is making moving not as straightforward as it would be otherwise.

They want him. Beales camp have been leaving stories for weeks regarding his unhappiness at the Rebels and a return to to the Tahs.Only crazy money will keep him at the Rebels.

Folau has been playing full back, he will move to the wing which will free up the fullback slot. Mitchell is going to Toulon & Barnes off to Japan as well.

In this months rugby world he states that he is learning French, and is then asked if that is related to a future move to the top 14, when he says he wants to in the future. So I imagine will go to France after the 2015 World Cup.

Beale back at the Tahs as I thought. Always on the cards after the suspension for attacking his teammates in South Africa.

Sorry Spence, wishful thinking I imagine but 'Barnes' you refer to going to Japan, am hoping thats Stuart Barnes.
Falcon19 you said you would 'throw this one out there' and indeed got some decent response, hopefully we will have something to get our teeth into after the final whistle on Saturday, looking forward to seeing our new players, wonder if Deano will let the Frenchman loose.
