Credit when its due. The scrum today was very good and as such it deserves its own thread with praise.

Considering the two starting front rows and packs i was worried.

But!!

Mavinga was great. His Tackling was spot on and he covered the ground very well. By a mile his best game for Falcons
McGuigan Solid and also got through a power of work all over the pitch.
Mulipola Soild made some good hits and carried hard. Looked knackered by the time he limped off.
Special mention to Callum Green who was my MoM for falcons. he just gets through so much work we know hes a lineout specialist but today he carried hard and did the hard graft all over the pitch.

But ALL hail to the scrum!!(Sm128)

Still a shame we got nothing to show for it.

I thought Mcguigan was outstanding today. He carried his socks off...even though twice he got rattled in double defender tackles. He also worked hard all over the park.

Mulipola was good...Mavinga did a couple of decent things but for me the jury is still out for me. We shall see as the season progresses.

We should have beaten them today.

Certainly was a step up on last season. Logo has made an impact but is a better LH imo, be interesting when Welsh comes back.

Mavinga had his best game by a distance, if he continues to improve he'll be like a new signing.

Payne and Brock struggled in the brief set piece time they got but showed up ok in the loose, McGuigan had a good game.

1. Mulipola
2. Cooper
3. Welsh

1. Mavinga/Lockwood
2. McGuigan
3. Wilson (please be back firing)

Is not too shabby, the issue is if any of these pick up nasty injuries, especially Logo.

Seconded. I'd had doubts about Sami's mobility but he was great today. No points but a lot of positives against a strong opposition. A couple of decisions away from a win or LBP

The scrum was excellent today and I was upset with the way the Ref penalised us int he first had for turning the scrum before getting the drive on; we had the drive on.

This isn't about the ref though because our scrum was excellent.

Props were rock solid and George at hooker was very dynamic in the loose.

Witty had a cracking game and Green was excellent in the loose and doing some of the dirty work.

Mark Wilson has been reading the Geneva play book for no one at home tries.

Will Welch was just amazing in contact and had some very good words with the ref at most times apart from getting the naughty boy chat for one remark.

Chick again is an improvement on himself and we are going to beat some teams good ad properly this season.

Just watching Wasps and Ben Harris is having another good game. Odd that he never came good for us, I think we may have missed a trick there.
