Good piece, Leipziger.

Results and points matter more at this stage of the season and builds pressure on the teams around us. What confidence it must give the players to know you can play better but you still won the game.

I think you can forgo the performance to a greater extent when you win and get the points. I am sure any team would say the same.

By no means a complete performance, but Joel's try and Marcus's disallowed try showed the fluent, attacking rugby that the Falcons were playing a couple of seasons ago, but has been rare since.

Enjoyed the game - Joel's try top class and Marcus's pace and side step awesome - got to keep the younger players and develop them.

I never have been and never will be a fan of Dean Richards, however there is no doubt we are a better squad this season and with two away wins already at Gloucester as well as The Gardens, the boys belief in their own ability has to be growing which is great news.

If we can reproduce the free flowing rugby of last Friday's first 20 minutes at home next Sunday we can beat Quins and go in to the new year firmly established as a mid table Premiership team.

For all Falcons fans, critical or rose tinted, that'll be the best Christmas present for years.
