The seeding method for the European competitions seem to leave a lot to be desired. Ludicrous that Saracens are not in tier 1 for the main competition after winning twice in a row. The Falcons don't deserve to be in tier 1 for the challenge cup given they haven't even got of out the group stage in recent years.

It goes by your domestic league performance rather than your European performance

Bordeaux is a good weekend away. Newport and Siberia not so much.

Bordeaux is very appealing for a weekend away. Hopefully we get decent dates for fixtures and not the week before Christmas

I would like to think that something could be done with the Newport pitch as it's beyond a joke, but not holding my breath.

It was in the press a few months ago that the WRU are in discussions to take over Rodney Parade and if it goes through have promised to use their expertise to improve the stadium and the playing surface. Apparently they hoped to have everything agreed by July this year but even if it goes through it doesn't give much time to fix the drains and lay a new pitch before next season. Have no idea where the take over talks are at now.

Only the third season in Europe and traditionally Enisei falls on old friends. Last year, Brive, this is Newcastle and Newport. Guys, welcome to Siberia. Finally, Krasnoyarsk will see European rugby live! In October, excellent weather, planes from Moscow regularly fly, there will be no problems!

Until it comes to getting a visa. I suspect the Russian authorities don't like individual visitors much. Last time I gave up as I wasn't prepared to go to Edinburgh on the offchance I might get a visa. Perhaps the Club or Supporters can organise a group to travel.

I suspect that at 4671 miles the Supporters Club bus may require 2 drivers & an overnight stop. Google directions estimate it will take 88 hours driving time & the fastest route is via the M1 (Seriously).

A flight will take 12 hours 55 minutes from Newcastle & cost 983.

The visa is the least of your worries.

I found a cheaper flight last time. Even if it was a fiver, without a visa nothing us possible.
