Hi guys i don't know if any of you have heard about this but the british olympic committee/powers that be have decided to cut funding for all female bobsled athletes prior to the olympics.

Three mens teams retain their funding but the womens team sadly don't. Well the driver for the ladies 2 bob team is my cousin Mica Mcneill, she is a Consett lass and is looking for funding.

Bio link is just below

If anyone from the club can help or anyone on here she will be eternally greatful. She has set up a funding page, she was on Anna Forsters radio show before and radio 2, twitter is getting hammered.

Thats the fund raising page.

Many many thanks guys.

Hmmm!

Women's rugby loses its funding.

Women's Olympic team loses its funding.

Would it be men making these decisions on our behalf I wonder?

I don't know

But I know my cousin has trained bloody hard, it will be devastating if she does not get to the olympics.

If anyone can donate every little will help, even retweeting the link for her fund raising page will help.

I don't know if anyone from the club can help??
She is looking for help in the form of donations or sponsorship from local businesses.

Well done to all involved. Unfortunately, it appears female sport is a target of most of the cuts at present.
