Very enjoyable thanks. Nice to see us getting some coverage for doing good things.

Tomorrow's nationals are a Falcons feast, and the Sunday Times are also doing a big hit.

Stephen Jones met Tane Takulua on Weds and is coming up again tomorrow.

DTH is in the Telegraph.

Mark Wilson and Deano in the Mail.

Dave Walder in the Times

Cal Green and Wellsy on Look North

Chris Harris in the Rugby paper and BBC Newcastle.

Wardy, Wils and Deano on BT Sport (Dom Waldouck the pundit tomorrow and Toby Flood interviewed at halftime).

It's been a busy old week, and tomorrow's programme is also a pearler if I don't say so myself!

Cheers,
Smithy

Mick Cleary's article in today's Telegraph likens the Falcons to KK's entertainers in their willingness to attack. Makes pleasant reading.

Maybe we could get together and post any and all articles over the next few days on here, or at least put up links, as trummy has kindly done for us today?

And sweet naff all in the local papers.
(Sm22)

Their loss, not ours. We have plenty of quality journalism to read without them.

Looking forward to the programme tomorrow Smithy.

Without appearing to be blowing hot air up his you-know-what, Smithy has been doing a cracking job. Take it from me, our results help attract the media interest, but getting journos and players together etc is what PR is about. (My spellcheck interpreted PR as Philadelphia. Spooky or what?)

Dom Waldouck? Fit?

Wasn't he combining a degree at Oxford with rugby?

Many thanks Dick, very kind of you. The team's results are what has drawn the media interest, but hopefully we have been very accommodating in terms of making the lads available.

It does help that they're a dream to deal with and appreciate the fact we need the exposure. I'm very lucky in that regard and the culture is driven from the top with Mick and Dean.

Dom was with Oxford in Philadephia but wasn't playing due to injury. Andy Saul did have a run out in the sunshine, though.

Mail article makes good points from Deano and Mark. Nice to see from a usually London centric national paper. Slightly shoddily written though.

I would say our number of caps is low, but then from about 2009 to 2015 we were either doing a barely managing role fighting relegation or in a different league....

Not the same now, so hopefully Mark Wilson will be the first of many!

That was a great read thanks smithy. And the only way or players who deserve England recognition like Green and Welch will get that is if we are fighting top 6/4 how many times has Eddie himself been up north? I'm sure he must have flunked geography because the "real" north is above sale. To reiterate again about Green when we played sarries he schooled itoje in the art of the lineout (tho not like the pundits would mention it). And I actually believe he might just be the best lineout operator in the premiership at the minute.

Im not sure we should have expected much representation due to the standard of rugby and players we had and were producing. We were woeful.

I do think Mark Wilson should have had caps much sooner than now however. I also think the biggest disappointment has been Scott Wilson. That lad should have been a wrecking ball for England as his idol (and former Falcon favourite) Carl Hayman was for the the All Blacks.

Going forward however that list of players who "could" make it just seems to grow and grow...players like Chick, Hammersley, Radwan, Willis, Uzokwe, Stuart etc etc etc

Sadly the old warrior Rob Vickers might struggle with Genge, Mako, Marler etc ahead of him smiling smiley

Link doesn't seem to work. Will have to buy the paper instead of my usual Observer. No problem.

Just read Jones's piece. Wonderfully, almost embarrassingly, positive. But Jones wrote positively about the Falcons in the early Hall/Andrew era when we were subject to much jealousy-based criticism as Jones recalls in his sidebar. Focusing on TT is quite correct. For me, he is the best of Deano's signings.
