If we can beat Exeter.....

.... then surely we will be rightly at the very top of the heap for the duration of the cup game break.

How long is it since we could even dream of such things? How long since beating Exeter didn't seem like a ridiculous prospect?

Many thanks to the squad, to Deano & the coaching team, to Semore & all of the management team for allowing us to contemplate such things with a smile. It has been a genuine team effort from everybody at KP.

It will have to be a monumental effort!
But I think IF we did win I'd say we can challenge the top four with the belief generated.
I rate Exeter as the most complete team in the league, imo, obviously.

The Chiefs will be smarting after today's unusually error-strewn effort.

Really looking forward to this away trip, quite a few of us flying down. I'm feeling fairly confident we will get a result, Exeter have been rattled the last couple of games.

I really hope we can hold them to a 4 point win itís such a tough place to go. Iím trying to be positive but my realist has kicked in and I expect them to get the 5 points after their performance at Leicester today. It would not surprise me if we came away taking 2 points for Tryís and loosing bonus and I would be delighted with that. A win would really get the media and Rugby world thinking.

The gap between us and Tigers in 5th position is important. The top four is taking shape and we are in it. Maintaining this gap is vital. And Saints are only on top because of a four point advantage in match points. This analysis is taxing my ancient Grade Six O-level Maths but it is pretty encouraging and very different from the sums I gave been grappling with in past seasons. Will have to dig out my abacus.

We need a point at Exeter to guarantee being in a top four spot after the first block of games (just over a quarter of the season already!) which is fantastic, anything better is a huge bonus.

We have never won at Sandy Park and had a few thrashings down there Exeter on form come at you wave after wave wearing teams down and rarely fail to score when they get a maul going near the opponents line but hopefully we will get close to them or better next week .
