Been reading as best I can with my 55-year-old O-level French (Grade 6) the match report in the French equivalent of TRP. Under the headline Lesson In Mastery, it quotes the Bordeaux DOR as saying the Falcons quite simply controlled the match. They won the contacts and occupied the ground.

The paper's reporter talks of the good half-back hinge of first Stuart-Flood and then Young-Flood and concludes by calling it a magisterial display of rugby Mastery.

It is interesting to note, by the way, that this paper has two pages on Rugby League. Given the appalling way in which the Vichy administration treated RL in WWW, it is good to find that barriers have been reduced.
