Ive just read the news that Mike Delany has signed for the Crusaders! Wow. Great news for the lad. I watched a few games of him playing for the Bay of Plenty last season and hes been tearing the place up. Good luck to the fella!

I've seen him play for Bay of Plenty & will throw my hat in the ring by congratulating Mike, who was playing like a 25 year old & loving it.

Made up for him, I think he got some very harsh comments here and blatantly was a good player, he prob would've been more suited to this season.

There's an old saying that form is temporary but class is permanent. Perhaps it could also be a truism that performing well in one competition (Super Rugby, Top 14, Pro 14 etc) doesn't guarantee performing well in the Premiership. Toby has already made a few comments about the game as he experienced it in France compared to the AP.
It didn't quite work for Mike with us but that's the nature of sport sometimes. To his credit, he never hid during games and seeing him at A games he seemed a popular member of the squad.
It was always going to be difficult for him to fill the void that Gopperth left, as it was for JG to fill the one Jonny left.Hope he finishes his career in a blaze of glory.
