Great to see Tom Penny on the list.

Think Matavesi, Willis and Socino may have added some quality to Friday night.

mannin, Josh injured his thumb at Wasps so wasn't considered for Friday as a result of not being able to train during the week. It's well enough for him to have a run tonight, though.

Would have liked to have seen Graham on the back row or at least on the bench. Heís a good prospect who needs more playing time to prove it.

Fonua played in other A league game at Northampton so unless he had a reoccurrence of injury he has been available for selection, just not picked. Let's hope he can get some fitness along with Lockwood.

Looks like Lockwood got 40mins under his belt tonight
Looked the part before a bad injury last season and he could make a big impact at LH

He looked trim, but difficult to tell much against such a weak Wasps scrum. Final score 62-12.

62-12 ft and the ref called it about 10 mins early.

I know we played very weak opposition but any stand outs?

Apart from a run out for some players, I don't think Falcons or Wasps would class tonight's game as a useful exercise - total mismatch

Ah well at least a few of the lads got to blow off some cobwebs. Lockwood, Fonua getting a run..and on the scoresheet

One question...Ryan Burrows.
Has he been injured? We need some serious brute force in the back row (well the whole pack is lacking some genuine brute force) for the first team...which is why he was brought in? Why is he not playing, yet he is captain of the A team??
Its very confusing.

Entertaining stuff, albeit against weak opposition, but more enjoyable than the Gloucester game.

It would be nice to see some of these players pushing on to get into the Premiership match-day squad and challenge the likes of Will Welch and others who seem to get picked regardless of form. The danger is, as always, if good players are not getting opportunities to play then they will look elsewhere at the end of the season.

Great to see Lockwood and Penny back playing, both looking fit and sharp.

Have we ever had two quicker wingers playing in tandem than Kibirige and Radwan, theyíve got serious pace and gassed their opposing players, particularly Zach tonight.

The academy and squad in general is in rude health at the moment which makes it all the more disappointing that the first team have been playing pants in recent weeks. Dropping one or two of them might just shake them up as well as giving encouragement to those pushing for first team places.

Good turnout too, 666,666

DB23 I think some of the first team selection decisions have been curious of late.

Agree - a mismatch, but it'll do no harm to the confidence to put some moves together with pretty good handling given the slightly fresh conditions. There's some real pace in that team and my non- rugby loving mates enjoyed the pace of the game. We could do with a prem win to restore a little confidence.

I agree, Geordie Falcon, the selections havenít worked at all. Weíve lacked penetration and creativity. There was plenty of both on display tonight but you canít compare a weak Wasps A team against Premiership defences.

However, the players playing on Monday nights and in cup games can only play whatís in front of them to push their case for inclusion in the Premiership squads and hope the coaches are bold enough to give one or two a run out

Don't forget the .67!!

Did anyone notice the ref ping their scrummy for not putting the ball in straight....twice....?

Haven't seen that for a long long time

I was stood next to Alan Tait when the first not straight was called and we looked at each other in amazement. I thought Fonua looked very trim and seeing how we got gassed on the outside at Wasps I wouldn't mind seeing Kibirige get a chance on the wing.

Agree about Fonua and ditto for Matavesi. The younger Matavesi also ran some excellent lines and benefited from the elders offloading ability.
Burrows was strong again and Orr must be hoarse this morning after all the chatter.
You cannot draw conclusions from this workout compared to the Prem, but the pace, running angles and running from depth, the crisp passing and the scrummaging were all commendable.
