TRP says that Scottish RFU is planning to buy Worcester to provide a Base for Scottish players in the Premiership. So all Jocks playing in Prem clubs will be lured away. What kind of nonsense is this?

I don't think that has any legs -would the SRFU have the money?

This one has been kicking around the message boards for a few weeks. I am surprised it has taken TRP so long to cut & paste it from t'internet.

Fake news.

Makes sense, they currently have 2 Pro clubs and buying an established club with good stadium, fan base and academy playing in a strong league will help develope players.

I have read through that article twice, and the only fact that all of this is 'deduced' from is that two people from SRU visited Sixways back in October, and they weren't there for very long.

From this evidence you could deduce the following:

They wanted to see the fancy new pitch at Sixways.

Or if you were a journalist with readers to entertain & space to fill, you could deduce from the same evidence that SRU will buy Worcester Warriors, then fill up 1,500 words with the possible ramifications of that happening. The fact that 2 months later, this particular journalist is still milking that story with absolutely nothing new to add since then suggests that not much is happening in the world of Scottish rugby, so may as well give it another spin.
