Ah well that's great to hear mark, Cheers.

Will we be seeing him run out on Saturday for a stretch of the legs?

The team hasn't been announced yet.

Is Nemani Nagusa with the squad and available for selection, as he was waiting for a work permit I believe. Has that all gone through yet, Smithy?

Re: Squad 2018/19
markismith50 09 August, 2018 16:16
Nemani arrives this weekend so won't be available for this game. He gets here on Saturday I believe.

What do we reckon on Falcons' fortunes for this coming season?
Strengthened enough to contend for playoffs again?

A bit more of a damning indictment here :

Can only hope it's way off the mark !

Re: Squad 2018/19

Nah, cant agree with 10th!

The squad looks good. Stability from the last few seasons is crucial, and a few of the youngsters will add some pizzazz.

Players like Callum Chick look like this could be there season to really show their potential.

I agree. The worry is the amount of money flying around BUT, as we can see with ashton, solomona, to some extent yarde and cipriani, these players bring trouble as well.

I hope the academy guys come through and that we hit top six but i wouldn't be surprised if we dropped away. Logically it would happen with our modest budget and champions cup committments BUT sport doesn't work like that. Culture, culture, culture is king and i think we have a good one. COME ON FALCONS

Re: Squad 2018/19
GeordieFalcon 22 August, 2018 16:10
Is Solomona any better than young Radwan or Kibirige at the moment? I honestly wouldn't swap them.
Don't discount stability either. This squad know each other very well now. They fight for each other and are well drilled in Deans requirements and tactics.

Yes we lost 4 important guys to retirement, but we have replaced them with very good premiership experienced players. Plus we have added a lot of potential.

If you were at the Nottingham game you would have seen a lot of them getting a run out and their enthusiasm is just so infectious.

We've also got Cavubati playing which he didn't last season.

Dean is a shrewd, knowledgeable character. He knows how to put together a good squad. Yes money is tight but all the same..he says these lads are ready.

He built the Harlequins side that won the title...including bringing through Robshaw etc etc.

Im confident

Does anyone know what is wrong with Sean Robinson? I genuinely feel he's our best lock forward, and yet hes seemingly permanently injured.

Re: Squad 2018/19
markismith50 26 February, 2019 10:52
Sean is out at the moment with a broken arm

Re: Squad 2018/19

Poor lad seems to have been out for such a long time going back even to most of last season . I do think we've missed him as well.

Cracking player.

I'm sure he broke it down at Sale - when in the midst of a return from a broken arm.

could be wrong tho

Re: Squad 2018/19
markismith50 27 February, 2019 11:45
Sean re-broke the arm at Northampton on Dec 1, hopefully will be back some point in March. He was getting a right beasting yesterday. I was tired just watching it!

Re: Squad 2018/19
GeordieFalcon 28 February, 2019 09:13
Well that's good to hear....could you imagine the impact he could have if he gets back on the pitch fit and raring to go. He's another leader, lineout guru and tackler supreme who we've missed big time!

Aren't Mullen and Cowell big elsewhere now ?

Re: Squad 2018/19
GeordieFalcon 07 May, 2019 10:22
Cowell is on loan with Donacaster, but still our player Steve, and with rumours about Hammersley on the move, may come into it next season.

Im also not sure about Mullen...kept him in for the moment.

Re: Squad 2018/19
Lowch 07 May, 2019 10:32
Iím pretty sure both have left permanently now. Cowell signed permanently with Doncaster for next season and Mullen is back in the US playing in the MLR, I believe.

What about Evan Olmstead? Only on loan I know, but nothing has been said about him being retained or not (same as Alex Dunbar)Ö..and just a slightly pedantic one, but its Greg Peterson not Glen (Sm101)
