Thanks to Monkey for allowing me to post here, as I know there are a number of supporters who follow the round ball game too.

The North East Manchester City Supporters Club will be hosting the Football Premier League trophy, Carabao Cup Trophy and all being well, the Community Shield, on Wednesday September 5th from 19:30 - 22:00. The venue is Swalwell Cricket Club, Derwenthaugh Park, Hexam Road, Swalwell, Blaydon-on-Tyne NE21 6JA. (located 2 mins from the A1) This year, we're extending the invite not just to friends and family, but to work colleagues in the local area as well. Supporters of other Clubs are welcome to get Photos next to the Trophies, but unfortunately, the 2 Security Guards overseeing the Trophy visit won't allow you to lift the Silverware.

You can also wear your own Team's Shirt, including Falcons one if you want(Toon & Mackem fans...please play nicely) on the night...the only exception being 'that' team from Trafford, just outside of Manchester. On a serious note, anyone wearing said Shirt will politely be asked to leave by the FA Security staff, as there are safety and security implications which could jeopardise any future visits. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Entrance is 3 Adults and 1 for under 18's, to cover the cost of Security and Transport, with all profits going to the City in the Community foundation. There will be a Pay Bar on the night too. If you'd like to come along, please can you reply here, or PM me. Please spread the message to your family & friends, and put the date in your diary. It's a rare opportunity to get close to some iconic sporting Silverware, and I hope we can welcome some of the Falcons family on the night.

Best Regards

Rick

Out of pure intrigue.... what are the safety concerns of someone wearing a Man Utd shirt having their photo taken?

As has been said, the risk emotions boil over. The security guys are responsible for taking the Trophy all over the world and ensuring it comes back in the same condition as it left base. We've held 2 successful visits to Blaydon Rugby Club in the last 6 years, and we don't want to jeopardise any future North East visits by an incident flaring that could otherwise be avoided.
