Official RFU Championship launch, with a few quotes from Dean Richards......

..............could that be the new kit Mr Sinoti is sporting or is it simply a new training top, Joe Ford (two right of Tane), is wearing the Yorkshire training top...Ö

and an interview with Sinoti conducted by former Falcon, Tom May...ÖÖ..

The training top looked interesting...similarities to the Nike one from years ago...

Turning up to the season launch in a training top looked absolutely ridiculous. Why not just launch the new kit in time?

Hi, just to clarify, we did have some embargoed photos taken in the new match shirt at the season launch, and those images will be made public after our official kit reveal (date TBC).

Will the official kit reveal be before the start of the season or will the team play in sacks so as to hide the embargoed kit? (Sm6)?

Hi Simon, it will be in the next few weeks. Fear not.

If we donít like the playing kit can we just use the training kit instead?
In fairness in previous years we havenít been able to buy a kit till October so Iím guessing the lack of kit is no surprise. Bit disappointing that we couldnít turn out to the league launch in a kit. Thereís clearly been a lot of work done on and off the pitch to enhance the matchday experience and the efforts are greatly appreciated. That said , could we maybe get the annual kit issue sorted as part of it?

Just to clarify, we did turn up in the kit, and those photos will be released in due course.

We're still a month and a half away from the start of the season.

Mark, not having too much of a go as I appreciate that the off season must be pretty busy for the club confirming sponsors and agreeing the shirt design with the new supplier. Equally the order lead on time must be significant .
Look forward to seeing the new kit in due course. And tbh it was good of the other team captains/players to wait for our lad to get changed into the training kit and have a different picture taken so that our club kit reveal wasnít spoilt.

Should be interesting to see the propper Championship launch promo shot and the other teams actual kits.
Thanks for all the good work behind the scenes on our behalf

Hi RAF,

There was no requirement for the other teams to wait for Sinoti because he only wore his match kit for some embargoed promo interviews with Sky Sports and the RFU's channels.

It's an easy one for people to hammer the club for and we were expecting it, but the reality is that the kit deal was signed relatively late in the piece, and we can't control the production schedules and delivery times of another company, much as we would like to.

Likewise, we wanted to launch the kit with our own promo imagery and video, which we're planning to do in the next few weeks. The same people criticising us now for embargoing last week's shots would in all likelihood have criticised us if we'd allowed the shirt to be revealed at the league launch without the usual fanfare.

Don't worry, I don't take any criticism personally, and merchandise is not really a part of the company I'm involved in to any great degree. I learned long ago in this game that no matter what you do, some people will choose to pick fault.

Cheers
Smithy

I guess it pays to be a bit thick skinned. Ultimately people are passionate about the club and we all like our opinions. Itís good that you and the club are willing to engage with the keyboard warriors! Like everyone at the club I guess, we have been licking our wounds after relegation and are just looking forward to getting stuck into the comeback season.
The kit is always a talking point that polarises opinion and makes for a good heated debate. It also gets people ready for the new season so looking forward to the release and seeing who we have sponsoring us this season along with Stelrad.
Iím sure the championship teams supporters will be relishing a weekend up in Newcastle and being able to drink away their defeat blues in toon!
