However it now appears there is a covenant on the airfield to prevent it being used for ‘noisy noxious or offensive trade or business or for any purpose which may be or become a nuisance damage or annoyance’.

Which might be said to include noisy cheering for one's team. However how that can be more noisy than helicopters taking off...

I always post under this name though and dont register new ones just to put down other posters - not suggesting you do but it has been seen on this board before.

So that would be 1 out of 38 who spoke to some others who might of had an opinion but were not bothered much and were probably asked the question ....

Do you like it at TA.....

to which they replied yes

Sounds like you need to work for Unite or BA

Thank you RichardW Choppers and other local heroes for your kind well thought out words

As said by BdeB many of us have supported the team for many years/decades in various locations. We are neither children hiding behind keyboards nor proprietal blow hards who measure thers right to have an opinion by their own criteria

Most people on here are genuine Wasps supporters who are most concerned with the well being of the club for the long term and the wish to see our team compete at the top level .

Regardless of the petty mudslinging this thread has slightly refined the arguement to two schools of thought to the following key proposition;

Moving to a new stadium around HW will/ will not generate substantially increased regular gates and corporate support for WASPS to a level where the club can financially compete in the future

Anything else around this subject is largely peripheral

The most disappointing thing is the much vaunted press conference has said very little, nothing concrete and nothing with a firm date, again

Ultimately its not the people who hold STH's or regulary attend matches now that will determine the clubs success in the future, its how quickly and sustainably we can build the fan and revenue base so we can keep pace with what is required for a competive squad , coaching staff and academy going forward. Salary cap or not that financial requirement is moving up.

We undoubtedly have the pedigree, heritage and are still associated with many high profile players that put bums on seats , even if they are thinning out a bit on the pitch

Will droves of urgently needed new supporters regularly watch Wasps and will companys take the boxes and sponsor to take the pressure off the revenue. Will this happen because of the announcement of a council consultation into building a sports village around HW, I think the answer at presnt has to be undoubtedly No, as nothing has changed

Are more supporters interested in becoming more engaged in watching Wasps rugby on a personal or corporate basis, well looking at the gate for the Bath game I would suggest yes there possibly are - will they do it at Wycombe sports village- well if you are standing next to a waspie with a pint and you havent seen them at HW ask them???? It might be at least as educative for us all

Better a local hero than a corporate
big game (only in London) supporter
unless it's internationals... Of course

where money permits this local hero supports
the team home and away the a league and
supporters events.

Unfortunately there are only so many ways
for you to bang your drum and accepting some
validity in whAt you say .... The fact is you
won't be coming to a wasps proper home game for
the forseeable future. What we don't yet know
is how many more are out there who are just
like you.

richard

You have absolutely no idea how many games I come to at AP, away premiership , away europe or the previous venues.

You have absolutley no idea what I do , or if I would watch my team on a coprorate trip.

I do for my sins watch too much rubbish international rugby but that has no bearing on what else I might be doing anymore than you turing up to regularly watch A team games

Please dont decry what others when you know nothing about the subject matter, please try and accept that many many people are extremely supportive of the team and are interested in its future not just locals.

The future of the club is bigger picture than you or I, As for are there any others interested in the club who dont do what you do but are equally valid supporters - ask at twickenham would be a start rather than pontificate

PDS

My insight only gained from many of your previous postings, all of which I read fully. I guess I have become tired of the same arguments being put forward in various forms but no actual solutions, which is why I am slowly being driven away from this website.

I think you need to attend Twickers with your Sandwich board and see how much support you can get. You may very well be right. London Venue = more bums on seats = more revenue = better players = success = more bumes on seats. Problem is no one has actually come up with this venue....

Loftus Road... not popular first time round
Craven Cottage !?
Brentford, I visited once in 1970 no idea what its like now
Essex ..... hot bed of Rugby folk

And then we have the issue of Money, I doubt Steve Hayes has enough to support Wasps/Wycombe but I haven't seen the queues of people knocking on his door.to offer to buy and settle us elsewhere....

lets wait and see because it doesn't matter how many threads are started on this subject none of us can influence it one way or another..

Time to Go, Henley beckoning, even nearer for me than Adams Park... Oh how lucky to be a local

The arguments remain the same as nothing has changed at Wasps as things have moved on elsewhere
