Daws I am normally in agreement with you....but not with your last post. I hate it when people state the obvious....we have played some poor stuff this year and it is easy to come on here and slate everything in sight. Moderator...where did that come from...it is MY NATURE to be positive and support through thick and thin. It is far more difficult in fact to do that then walk around with a long face being critical of everything the players and management are doing. How can we ''suggest'' what team should be picked or where players should be playing when we are not on the training ground to see what is going on with players. Yet on this site most think they can do a better job then the people employed to do it....like I said easy to be critical but not so easy to be positive when times are difficult.

Because this is a supporters site designed for discussion about the team and the club? Just because Dai Young knows more about rugby than everyone on this forum doesnt mean he's always right or the selections are always right. This site is no different to every pub in the country - full of blokes talking about their teams (football, rugby, whatever) and who theyd pick, what the managers done wrong etc. I doubt anyone on here really thinks they know better than Dai and Paul but that doesnt mean we cant discuss what we thinks going wrong with the team. If everyone just posted positive things about the team and supportive messages then this would probably be the most boring message board on the planet.

As I said above - I will cheer the team on till I am hoarse when in the ground and I desperately do not want the club to be relegated (something I doubt even the most miserable doom mongers on this site want (waspernator excepted so he can say 'I told you so')). And if you can still be happy after walking out of another consecutive league loss and another dreadful performance then fair play to ya - but I cant. It doesnt mean I support the club any less.

Apologies to the Offy Site, but this needed to be brought over.

A quote from Joe Launchbury:

"We absolutely do understand how frustrated our supporters must be at the moment and I suppose what I would like them to know is that the players are feeling it just the same. Every loss hurts and after last weekend in particular, the way the game ended, everyone was shattered and absolutely gutted. We are taking the results very personally and it is important that our fans know that their support for us in a testing time is massively important.”

Daws I have never said I am happy with defeat...stop making things up! I hate being beaten but I don't post that. Be positive man for goodness sake....KevinTheB has just summed up perfectly what I am on about....read Joe Launchberry's statement. The problem is we get beaten against Chiefs and all you read about on here is doom and gloom....not many try to be positive...well when we find we're still in the premiership at the end of this season I won't be saying ''told you so'' !!

Now I've had a cuppa and chilled out a bit I hope Daws is still ok with me and aopologies to Joe for spelling his name incorrectly....heat of the moment stuff just trying to type quicker than the brain was thinking.
Bottom line is I guess frustration is building up....I just remember as a player if a team mate said get your chin up after a mistake was made it was far better than another player (and there were one or two like this) who just called you a ...........!!!!! Anyway for Friday night, c'mon guys let's get a win.....good luck.

quite often we see supporters suggest players "just go through the motions" or don't care if they lose as long as they get paid, or don't have pride in the shirt.

However, no one ever says who they feel does this. In the 10 years I've supported wasps I cant ever remember watching a player and thinking they didn't care. I don't like naming players for a slagging off but posters like Jimmy are tarring the whole team with the brush of not caring, so lets hear it. Who do you think doesn't care ??

Re: Open letter to DL Post call
arquero 21 February, 2012 21:36
No, please, let's not hear it! Is there any merit in making the thread any more personal about specific players?

Re: Open letter to DL Post call
bald.paul.101 21 February, 2012 21:45
Maybe you're right Arquero, but I'm fed up with posters saying players don't care, when all evidence points to the contrary.

BP,

Agree with you entirely, but I don't see how naming and shaming anybody would re-motivate a workforce that must already be struggling in light of all the uncertainty that surrounds it.

We would not be having bonus point losses to top 4 teams if the players did not care.

Bald Paul I will NOT be doing that! I wrote my letter to Dave out of sheer desperation of not wanting to see my beloved club fall out of existence. It is not just me that agrees that some of the players are journeymen however I will not name individuals.

If you read the reply from DL, he expresses having chatted for nearly 20 minutes that my passion is not in question. I formally apologise if (I am sure it did, though it was not my intention) my post offended. I can hand on heart tell you it is out of passion, desperation, years of playing and years and years of following Wasps. Please read my post call summary too.

Would like to put this to bed now-if allowed. I manked at the one man I knew thought might understand me, he responded and I at least had the nuts to call him. We had a great chat, he assured me, revitalised me and I now thinks it is time to move on.

The more I read about Saturday's loss, the more it seems as if we got screwed out of at least a draw by some poor referree decisions.

Now, in many ways you make your own luck, but I do passionately believe that we CAN grab a couple of wins and keep on fighting, and stay in the Prem.

When the chips are down, everyone is writing us off, the vultures are circling and the critics are cackling with glee over our apparent demise, that's when we come together. That's when we need to stand side-by-side and fight for each other. That's who we are.

We are London Wasps.

I have had some great times with Wasps absolute highs in Dublin and at Twickenham which I'll never forget although the latter parts of the evenings are harder to recall. We are going through some bad times at present and that's when you need your supporters to rock up the most. I'm sure the good times will roll again and I and my kids will want to be part of it! Quins and Northampton have recovered from similar bad times and we're as passionate as them so bring it on. As Warren said before he took us on "There is only one way for such a great club to go - up"

Re: Open letter to DL Post call
bald.paul.101 22 February, 2012 12:45
Jimmy, its not just you, after every loss somebody comes on here and berates the players for not caring, and I think thats wrong.

Just because a player is journey-man doesnt mean he wouldnt play his heart out for the club he's playing at.

But you do get a bonus point for you last post smiling smiley

Top bloke Dave L. What they're going through can't be easy for anyone employed by the club, on or off the field.

I sincerely and honestly have no doubt none of them are enjoying being in the position we are in.

The fans - and I am one, should have their say here, good or bad, but I have no doubt on match days the team on the pitch badly want the W.

Come on Wasps!
