Well, whoop-dee-doo, you've got a bit of dirt to dish up on an ex-Wasps player. Glad for you that, like BeckenhamWasp, you feel the need to share it. Not worthy of further comment, frankly!

Spot on Andy1210. I don't really care about what players do off the pitch as they don't break the law but if go around acting like a tw*t and don't back it up on the pitch then it becomes an issue.

The man is a prima donna who thinks that tackling and rucking are optional extras rather than rugby necessities. Also there is a good reason why large numbers of Wasps supporters preferred Dave Walder over Cipriani during the 2008-9 and 2009-10 seasons. Quite simply he was the better player and the team played better when Walder was playing.

Basically he needs to screw his head on pretty damn quickly otherwise he will end up squandering his undoubted talent. If Charlie Hodgson can learn to tackle then so can Cipriani!

Andy and Beckenham...

Wow...you guys are making a hell of a lot of statements and assumptions.

You have no idea what's gone on and currently going through his mind. What kind of struggles and demons he has to contend with on a daily basis.

People don't deliberately become arrogant or aloof. It's a defence mechanism. A part of their character and emotional intelligence that they haven't yet worked out, so they put up walls to protect themselves.

People learn different things at different speeds.
He's picked up rugby skills that others will never reach in their lifetime, but consequently, he's behind in emotional intelliegnce. Guscott was quite similiar and was a particularly diffcult person at times.

It doesn't mean you ditch a person right there and then. You accept them for who they are and work with them to help them become a complete player and person, as I'm sure people like Steve Diamond and Mark cueto will do next season along with others.

All these anti-Danny statements you keep bringing up (which are incidents from 1,2,3 years ago) reveal much more about you and your character, than they do about Danny.

You're just highlighting your quite narrow view and understanding of different people's personalities.

They way you expeience the world is very different to the next person. We're not all built and programmed the same.
Making changes in certain areas of life is incredibly difficult for some and is based upon fear, insecurity and uncertainty.

As I say, we all grow up in different areas of our life, at different times. That's what makes the world so interesting and diverse.
But that doesn't make Danny Cipriani a bad person. He's got some 'stuff' in his mind that he has to release to move on and he's obviously finding that quite a challenge. But from noises coming out of Oz, he's beginning to make good improvements.

People can be very quick to form opinions and assumptions without fully knowing all the information. A bit of curiosity, empathy and understanding can go a long way.

Hmm. I was saying that he is not good at tackling and shirks rucking. Also the bloke has been given more than enough opportunities but continues to act like a prat. If you behave as if you are a D list celebrity you will always put yourself in the line of fire and will get it in the neck when you don't perform.

Also, more importantly, I doubt that Cipriani has the skills set to become a world class fly half. A very good full back maybe but not an the making of a great 10 in my book.

This is the problem we're alluding to - why on earth are you so wrapped up in this player who left us 2 years ago and has chosen to go to another club on his return? He's not interested in Wasps. You need to move on with the club you support and not act like some counsellor/parent for a Sale player. He won't hesitate to celebrate if he scores a try or points against us.

And who ditched who...?

You don't know me from Adam so what does this say about my character? You'd have to be very naieve to think that everybody is a nice person and don't have different agenda's in life.

Anyway, it's not dirt digging, they're facts about why a player has been unpopular amongst his peers wherever he's gone - Wasps, England, Melbourne. I'm actually a Wasps fan and not a Cipriani follower and both myself and Beckenhamwasps are saying exactly what objective coaches and commentators will say about him.

It's very hard to make a comment about him without people flying to his defence on this board, but it's not the same when people criticise club stalwarts like LBND and Lewsey who made it great. I find that odd to be honest. We should have more loyalty for those who have been loyal to Wasps, not those that ditch the club to move on or walk away when the going gets tough.

Well said Andy1210. There have been plenty of Wasps players that have epitomised our clubs values during the professional era and Cipriani is simply not one of them. The thing that marked Wasps out during its great era of 2003 to 2008 was the club men such as Volley, Waters, Green, King etc. who gave their all for the club with little prospect of prolonged international recognition or a high profile. Also compare Cipriani's attitude to his direct contemporary Dave Walder. Whilst Cipriani shirked the physical aspects of the game at the best of times Walder played half the 2010/11 season on one leg and never took a backward step even though he was not a great tackler. Supporters who watch rugby and know the game can see that and react to the players in question accordingly. The people who booed Cipriani were not that small in number.
