Pro 14!?

I do not understand it, the meritocratic nature of the RCC was developing the league nicely. And here they go and place 2 teams from the SH into the league, seem to be generating a 2 conference system, and in a stroke reduce the derby games by 25%. And apparently to date have not approached the organisers of the RCC to negotiate the inclusion of 2 teams that are not only not anywhere near Europe, but not even in the same hemisphere! Which leads to logistical nightmares and increased costs to the teams that have to travel out there.

Seems a bit of logistical nightmare! Not sure it is a good idea either. Glad we do not have that type of league! But then again in the professional era I cannot begrudge a league trying to maximise revenue by accessing the monies that the Kings and Cheetas could bring in terms of TV revenue (reported 10 million). Interesting times.

I've read somewhere (not sure where) that the clubs are eager to keep as many derby matches as possible.
The RCC angle is an interesting one, but who's to say that they'd even qualify? Was watching the Rebels and Force match a few days ago, the quality was terrible. Just because these teams come from the Super 10,000 doesn't mean they' can do it on a Friday night in Galway/Belfast/Llenelli/Glasgow etc.
