So who's worth £1.2M?

From the 1:50 mark in this video, Northampton Saints chief executive Allan Robson claims that a club (unnamed) is paying £1.2M for a marque player.

I'm guessing that the contract is forward loaded with such player getting a massive amount for year 1 & far less in further years.

Presuming only Sarries, Bath & possibly Wasps can throw that sort of money around, so...

Faletau? Beale?

Any guesses?

TJ Perenara to Bristol (apparently for £1.25m). What is even more surprising is that if he does sign for us then it will likely be in the championship which incidentally would help us in front loading his contract with no salary cap in the champ.

For a couple of years Bristol have been able to outbid any team in world rugby but haven't been able to guarantee premiership rugby hence we've not been able to get them to sign on the dotted line. Since Pat lam has joined for next season that seems to have changed as last week we signed Luatua, apparently were going to sign Perenara and theres a rumour were in discussions with Ryan Crotty also. I can't believe current all blacks will sign for us, but there you go.

According to The Rugby Paper today Luatua doesn't have a clause. Fair enough really as they've no doubt offered him a decent wedge.

From next season the play offs go and there is no way Bristol won't come back up for all our worries over the play offs we are by far the best team in the league and Bristol will be at least as good, emphasis on at least. For LI we need money to spend and fast or we'll be fighting relegation all over again. Newcastle are a strong side and are recruiting well, Worcester look the weakest side next season but hardly poor.

Irish have to spend and have to attract quality players as the salary cap will be spent to be max ( as a minimum &#128521winking smiley and marquee player out of that means top drawer players don't even come into it. The premiership will get stronger and better built on money like it or not
