OT Rugby stories

I was listening to an interview with Ronan O'Gara on Saturday and he recounted a couple of good Austin Healey stories.

The first was the old one about an England Ireland game. England took the ball into a ruck and a big green hand reached through, Dragging Austin in to the ruck from which he emerged "a little damaged" and had to leave the field. Nigel Owens brought the captains together, . Nigel said, OK lads who did that? To which Jonno replied...... Could have been any one of 29 sir!!!. 30 Jonno 30 said Nigel, ok lets get on with the game.

The other one was on the 2001 Lions tour when Duncan McCrae gave O'Gara that famous hiding. Apparently, according to legend McCrea sought Ronan out after the game to apologise. He got O'gara alone and said.... I am so sorry mate, I thought it was Healey. He was pressed pretty hard on this by the interviewer but he wouldn't confirm or deny it

The first one could be true but I think Healey has recently said on twitter that it's a good after dinner story that has slowly been added to.

The McRae incident I think is not true as McRae himself said after the incident that he was retaliating to a couple of what he felt were cheap shots from ROG earlier in the game.
